    The squad is a little threadbare, but pre season games should always come with a health warning. It’s always about the fitness etc… Everyone wants to win any game, but fitness and, more importantly for us right now, and spotting gaps in the squad, are more important.

    Last 30':

    Bass, Bedeau, Macari, Aves (Y), Chicksen, Jones, Robertson, Reynolds, Adiefeh (Y), Gill (Y), McGoldrick

    So first team won 1-0
    Above, with three youth, lost 3-0

    60' and 30' was mentioned as the plan yesterday I think.

    I agree and people should not read anything into the result. Playing in 30 deg C heat as well is going to take it's toll towards the end even on those who may have not been on the pitch long.

    For me this trip is fitness and also team bonding for those who will be on the fringes of the matchday starting 11 such as Slocombe and Chicksen for example and the youth players whom the trip will be a good experience for them mixing and playing with the senior professionals.

    That's why in these kind of games a look at the bigger picture should be taken.
