"and it makes space for more youngsters to come through and shine". You mean now we have "cleared the decks" of the youngsters who weren't any good, like Hjelde, Cresswell, Bate, Shackleton etc etc? We retain Gelhardt, but why, when it's as plain as the nose on anyones face that Farke will never play him for more than the last 90 seconds in any game scheduled in the foreseeable future. Will there be any difference in Farkes "strategy" wrt Joseph (unless of course he is forced into it because we have no alternative striker)?

You really do live up to your nickname.

I'm really glad we partnered up with Red Bull. It's offered us a great pipeline of potential players. we've broadened out our search for players so much. No way we'd have ever fixated on Ryan Kent without that connection.

What is it with our obsession with certain players? 100,000 professional footballers in the world and we get fixated on a couple of players....even after they can't make the grade at other leagues.

What makes it even more maddening is the fact we often have equivalent or better players in our youth system that are so much lower risk and cost than what we fixate on.

I truly dread transfer windows anymore. we are just so inept at it that we will always be doomed to mediocrity. About the only way we'll ever move up the ladder is if FIFA really starts enforcing financial rules and penalizes the violaters such as Citeh. That's a poor way to move up the ladder.

I think what it is, half of us believe the schitt kicking about the www. All speculative and apparently’s. It seems to get worse season to season, fun (sort of) to read but I believe absolutely nothing in regard to all these ghost stories. Like most seasons now in this tired old head I will give us half a dozen games in before I make any call on what’s positive or negative on our season ahead.

If teams wanted to stop Leeds all they had to do was stop Summerville, if him and Dan James didn’t score we were stuffed, as the midfield offered nothing in the way of scoring, maybe this way we’ll finally get a more rounded side, as long as it’s not left to late, as is likely, just clutching at straws again.

Factual observation that we actually have cleared out a lot of players.

But responding to what you said constructively - suspect we both feel that a lot of players we mentioned didn’t get proper opportunities but that wasn’t solely under Farke/49ers.

I am hopeful that Crew and Joseph will be given opportunities to show what they can properly do. Joseph looked good in pre season - he has pace and an eye for goal and puts his head in places where it can get hurt (possibly unlike other forwards we have).

I expect Geldhardt to leave as not sure he will get much time so he needs to move for his own career.

Snowdon and Debayo both look to have. Lot of potential.

"A more rounded side", as in, no-one can score you mean?

Now, now, non scoring has often been our downfall, Mind you, so has a dodgy defence and goalkeeper…lol.

So we make a virtue of it instead? 😉
