Sadly all down to finances rather than choice. If it were choice I'm sure we could all name others we would rather have sold on. As it is, our debt has at least now been substantially reduced to help meet the financial guidelines.

The issue will now be finding capable but affordable replacements-which brings us back to your comment about our poor recruitment dept.of course

Yep, that's the crux of it. The minimum we should expect is that players put a shift in and do their best. Many fans were frustrated by BTAs lack of finishing but most still loved him for his energy and commitment. Of course you need quality and ability to win games too but effort should be a pre-requisite.

As today's commentator pointed out, in the Premiership it is more about having quality players, in the Championship you can have average players and it is more about the influences of coaches to get them playing well as a team.
