The Saturday afternoon football fix in my opinion was always part of English football culture , even an away day was part of Saturday football culture , Sunday's never did quite do it for me .

Thousands upon thousands of football fans up and down the country heading for railway stations on a Saturday morning , motorway services packed with fans following their club's to away games .

A whole way of life discarded for a few miserly quid .

Feel for the younger fans and those yet to be born , sorry to say you'll never know how good it once was and you never will .
