    I also find your repeated singling out of Catholics a bit strange and I don’t say that as a Christian
    I’m not ‘singling out Catholics’ and I have absolutely no axe to grind. It just seems to me that over the years ‘terrorism’ has always been synonymous with politics and religion. At the moment Muslims are identified, sometimes reasonably-often not, as the trouble makers and the best equivalent I could think of was the number of *****philes/abusers that were synonymous with the Catholic church throughout the first half century, at least, of my life.

    I doubt statistics are available because, by definition, in both cases we’re talking about secretive, subversive and deviant behaviour.

    There were also reports, and I don't know if they are true or false, that he's up in Court again and decided to do a runner to France, where he asked for asylum. I fully admit I have no idea of how true this is, apart that is from his being up before the beak again, but it did make me laugh.
    I was referring to all who are doing the **** stirring, Farage was merely an example. Indeed who funds the Yaxley-Lennon's, the Hopkins et al of the UK? For what reason? It is true that certain billionaires fund not only these people, but also the very specific media such as GBNews and talk TV, that have a very specific agenda, which is to pump false messages repeatedly to the gullible.

    As I see it you have;

    The funders, those billionaires including it seems Musk, who espouse a world where the richest are in total control.

    The rabble rousers people like Farage who are paid to push the false message repeatedly and spread sometimes subtly, sometimes not so subtly until more and more people accept lies as truth. I believe it was Goebbels, Hitlers propaganda chief who said and I paraphrase "The more a lie is repeated, the more it becomes accepted as the truth"

    The enablers, being those social media and media companies - lie X or Fox News GBNews who permit proven falsehoods to be broadcast widely. There is free speech and a free media, until such times as it becomes false and dangerous propaganda.

    The "quiet" supporters, these are people who either swallow the rubbish being pumped out without question and repeat it verbatim - the Thickys of this world, they are not lacking in the ability to actually think, but for whatever reason latch on to conspiracy theories and anything that supports their POV, whilst not questioning its validity.

    But there also those, and some are on this Forum who whilst not openly supporting the POV, say well yes the riots are bad, BUT they do have a point, or there is an issue here which rightly irritates people. Sometimes that irritation is as simple as seeing people from an ethnic minority back ground on TV and thinking it doesn't reflect the world in which they live. Or thinking that Asylum Seekers somehow threaten society and need to be stopped, without asking why this issue wasn't a particular problem before Brexit and the Tory government stopped processing applications in a timely manner.

    Then there are the "actors" people who relish the idea of a good fight, riot or spot of looting, who don't really care what the "cause" is, they just look for an excuse for a bit of aggro.

    To put the violence directed at British Muslims, Black Britons and asylum seeking down to “legitimate grievances” is to fall for one of the most toxic and intentionally divisive falsehoods in the populist handbook: the myth that class and race are diametrically opposed, the assertion that non-white people have no class identity. In this distorted world view, the true working class are the “white working class”, and the difficulties they face are not a consequences of political choices that affect everyone, irrespective of ethnicity, skin colour or faith, but of “elites” putting the needs of minority communities first. As if those minorities are not themselves working class. Boris Johnson’s disastrous government pushed that falsehood whenever it got the chance.

    Well well, it seems "our" Nige hasn't been seen in Clacton for a while, no surgery's held and constituents complaining they don't get a reply to emails requesting a meeting!

    Also it seems Farage now resides in Belgium and has EU wide freedom of travel. So suckers, Brexit hasn't negatively impacted on him at all and he is it seems not undertaking his duties as an MP. What a surprise!
