Move on. There must be better players out there for that kind of money.

Way better. That sort of price you should be pushing world class defenders or potential future world class.

Lets face it. Hes not in that category.

Steve Parish is pushing it, saying we got to pay "superstar" money. I think we should pull the plug - rather have the AC Milan lad for half the money then.

And then turn the focus onto a winger please!

He's a good player but he's certainly not a 'Generational talent'. If he was he'd be in Chelsea's first team & would have interest from Real Madrid etc

Just for those at the back, NO ONE ELSE IS INTERESTED IN BUYING GUEHI THIS SUMMER. There is no 'bidding war', no cue of 'elite clubs' lining up to sign the fella.

Even the hated Red Filth of Manchester decided to spend £70m on an 18 yr old French kid & Matthijs de Ligt from Bayern Munich for €50 million.

If Ashworth is the 'GURU of all GURUs' why didn't he go after Guehi. I'm sure his buddy Parish would have much preferred to sell him to the swamp dwellers than to us.

It's great to see that we are not being held to ransom and if the board will walk away if selling clubs start taking the P*ss!

Walk away, they clearly dont want to sell him to us, they will have an unhappy player on their hands this season. We still have 2 weeks left to get 2 much needed players in. Mitchell must have a dossier of suitable players, if he hasnt then questions need to be asked. Parish has called our bluff, well stuff them!

Taking a step back I think Parish has done us a favour. No reasonably minded fan wants us to spend what it takes (although we would’ve if there was no PSR).
We now have definition and far better that than a deal destined to fail dragging along in secret.

Agree with Tino above - move on. I would prefer a starting RW and a CB with potential than just Guehi tbh.
One thing we have which other clubs don’t is a manager who is excellent at improving players.

If we're talking this kind of money I would rather go for someone like Diomande at Sporting.

Younger and better potential. Played many top level games.

Exactly. Had we got Guehi at the initial bid of £50mill then that would have been a decent deal but shopping around with the knowledge and info our team have had then two bargains to cover two positions for £65mill would make more sense.

To be fair, Chelsea had De Bruyne and Salah (the list goes on) in their system and couldn't figure it out. I don't think making it into the Chelsea team is an indication of whether or not you're world class.

    Still no comments from us.

Another interveiw with Parish today, where he was much more measured about us "they have been really respectfull about how transfers are done" etc.

I really think this deal gets done.
