Its not the 70s if you "Let a player rot" as you say they can I believe take action to cancel contract if they have no chance of playing.

I agree we need players to come in and we are badly short this is on RM and its why I said last week we could struggle this year.

From what I've heard they are both on relatively modest deals
We tied Macca in with a better package so that when a Championship club came in at least we were able to hold out for the best deal available after refusing their initial offers
Why haven't we done the same with Dan & JJ?
It's just hugely frustrating because we seem to have done a good job in addressing the defensive issues from last season (happy with what I've seen of our new defenders so far) but it seems to have come at the expense of taking our eye off the ball with our attack.

The harsh reality is clubs don't usually stick formal bids on the table, unless they've been given encouragement by the player or the agent. If he saw his long term future at Notts, i'm sure a new deal would have been sorted by now. The bros know what they're doing, and if we sell him i'm sure we will have a plan.

We still have a debt to cover from Munto even if the owners are covering it for now.

We dont have a tin with Langys £750k in it !

Only if the club is acting unreasonable. If a club rejects an offer and the player sulks, it is not unreasonable to remove them from the first team squad

I think the way the owners want to operate is that they trust their database (rightly or wrongly) and so they will pick players up on frees or pay a transfer fee they think is good business to get players in.

Once they have them in, they will offer max one contract extension (in exceptional cases like Macca and LW), which is not really about keeping the player for the length of the contract, more about keeping them here for a short while longer and improving our negotiating position when the inevitable happens.

Of course the player might not want to extend (like Ruben) then they decide whether to cash in or let them give us an extra year on the pitch before leaving for nothing. In Ruben's case they decided having him see his contract out was worth more than whatever money we were offered, and they were probably right. With Nemane they decided money plus another player would be more beneficial than letting him run his contract down.

They don't mind if players leave because it shows potential new signings that this is a good place to come to progress their career, and they back themselves to look at their data again and get somebody as good or better.

I have no idea whether Crowley is going or not. I hope not because he's probably the player I enjoy watching the most, but I accept we are not going to throw money at fan favourites to keep them at all costs, and if they want to leave we will let them. It's not particularly romantic, but it is a good way of running a sustainable football club.

Yes correct but chances are in todays game player/agent would have said they'll go.

The club us will speak to player and if he says I want to go you generally let them go to not cause a fuss.

We have to remember the model we use if we block moves then do players think twice about joining ?

I dont like the idea selling to direct rivals prefer club to be in different league but money is money and MK now have new owners.

Like you said in a previous post though, you believe talks took place last winter but didn't progress. If that is the case realistically what can the club do? It's worth noting for all the pant pis**** by a few fans, Peterborough have become an established promotion chasing L1 side, despite selling their best players for over a decade. Brentford and Brighton established Prem despite doing similar. The point somebody made is spot on. Showing players Notts is a good place to be but we won't stand in your way, if the deal is right is attractive to players nowadays.

A lot of National Enquirer subscribes on this website. It caused a right stir with a nameless rumour saying Mansfield and now moneybags MK Dons actually table a bid! Join the dots time.

Langstaff, Nemane and possibly Crowley sold I was completely fine with the first two both made sense but would rather not see the third from all I have heard.

At least it would put the final nail in the coffin of anybody claiming that the recruitment is poor.
