Anything to beat the Club with.

Once again you choose to omit Bass and McDonald, do the undisclosed fees paid for those two this summer not count a reinvestment into the squad?

It was the clubs fault they signed him when he was injured

It’s because we aren’t used to it. Previously we were used to sign on a free and let go on a free bar the odd exception where we spent 6 figures and let go on a fee.

If only the club had given us a hint that they would looking to sign players with potential to make a profit on and reinvest.

Bigger issue was he was never going to get enough game time with Macca at the Club. Not every signing works but the owners are getting some really right

They are getting some really right, but there just as many signings that are very poor from so called experts.

I agree with most on here that we are, on the face of it, a few bodies light; a wing back, a central midfielder and a striker.

I also think we have a lot of functional players who can play in more than one position, so we have more flexibility when it comes to adding players.

I’ve said for ages that you can’t afford to build a squad of 18-22 experienced pro’s, in the age bracket of 23-30, who are the perfect L2 fit, mainly due to financial reasons. This is why the abject criticism of Sam Austin, Adam Chicksen and to a lesser extent (but it will come) Cedwyn Scott really wrangles me. Three good, honest pro’s. By no means world beaters and not players I’d be desperate to see start 46 games this season, but they’re worth their place in our squad.

Young players need exposure. If Ryley Reynolds makes the bench every game this season, there’d be no reason to worry about that at all.

I hope we don’t lose Crowley, he’s an exceptional player - who funnily enough got loads of pointless stick at one point last season - but if he goes then he goes. We move on.

We thought we couldn’t replace Wootton. We thought we couldn’t replace Ruben.

    That's life.

    Most transfers are gambles.

Probably their World Cup standard, 40,000 capacity, state of the art stadium, that’s within a stones throw of central London?
And not some back water Student ghetto in the East Mids?
