Well said The BlackHorse. There will be many things going on behind the scenes that the club would be unwise to share.
I was a little shocked, like a lot of people, when Nemane left on the seasons eve. But then watchin a Notts Podcast, (the Pavis Perspective I think), they were talking about Nemane being very late to re-sign a year ago. So maybe he was looking for a bigger contract a year ago.
I've just read that Bournemouth have paid 40M for a Portuguese player. I guess this is the future for Notts if the club can keep buying players low and selling high!
Another point on Crowley: when we signed him, his career was nose diving. He had just been released by relegated Morecambe after never really finding home. He's just had probably the best season in his career for us and should stay at Notts IMO.
None of us have any idea which players Notts are in for, so this is just conjecture. The time to judge will be in September once the squad is finalised. Let’s be patient and see who we have in the building - and let’s hope the likes of Gordon, Tsaroulla, (mystery man) McDonald and Matty Palmer will be fit by then.
Exactly! And we are unlikely to get any decent loans in like we did years ago with Grealish and McGregor because of how we treat loan players. Last year we didn't play Tipton at all and Warner had his confidence destroyed, why would we get top talent on loan after that?
It's a bit of a head scratcher as to why we've not signed anyone this week. Can only imagine that we are ready to pounce on players but are waiting in a chain with other clubs looking to sign before they release. I'm surprised that we didn't move for Mnoga on a short term deal, seeing as though he spent most of pre season with us.
Was the Ipswich signing of Szmodics from Blackburn yesterday a panic buy? Was Forest’s signing of Sosa? Maybe some signings are just more complicated than others? Also, if we want young Premiership players on loan, I’m guessing now is the time that they will become finalised.
I’m happy to give the club the benefit of the doubt, until proven otherwise (on August 31).
