Both are capable of playing at a higher level so it wouldn't make a lot of sense for either of them to go to a L2 rival. Especially one like MK where who knows how the change of ownership will play out. We know ourselves that new owners initially welcomed as saviours can turn out to be your worst nightmare
I'm quietly confident that we an persuade them to sign extensions. Fingers crossed
It would be a big positive and boost if both did sign extended contact. Even if it’s on the basis l they only stay for this season. Like with Macca depending upon the outcome of the season it puts the club in a better position financially and likewise we are not standing in the way of two players who like Macca and Ruben have the potential to play in the championship.

I agree it does not make sense to see one or both of them move to a league two rival now or even a league one team when in a years time they could be doing what Ruben and Macca are doing and the club would have received a financial boost as well. It’s a win win for all parties.

The reality is that for the right offer we should always sell.

The model we are working at involves sustainability, that means cashing in when it’s good, promotion and/or bust is not something I ever want this club to entertain. The way is gradual improvement, that way brings consistency and sense over bang and bust.

Of course I’d like us promoted, who wouldn’t. But I’d much rather we were attractive, competitive and didn’t have to rely on owners continually chucking in cash.

No one at the club wants Crowley or Jones to leave at the moment
Especially not to go to a L2 rival

Just watched the Grant Thursday pre presser, interesting he said talks started nearly 2 weeks before, whether Nemanes did who knows?
Impressive the guys already just turned 23 and racked up over 100 league appearances and just over half in L1.

Our way forward should be to sign players that are adequate/ piss poor and that nobody else will ever want to sign. That will solve all these discussions about shall we sell him or keep him till his contract ends.!!!x
Oh i think we've tried this model already !?x

Why is it a negative having youth players on the bench? Do you not agree with blooding young players at Notts?
Yes but only if they are good enough. If they are only there because we have no-one else then No. I personally don’t know if they are or aren’t.

Why would Notts offer a pro contract to a player that they deem not to be good enough?

From what I've seen of Reynolds, he has potential but not ready for a full 46 game League 2 season but would be able to contribute if required. I'd rather have one of young players fulfilling this role than a young loan player from another team that goes back.

I seem to recall a few years ago that one of our young players reached the age of 17 and was able to be signed by another club because he didn’t have a contract with us. I can’t remember who it was though. The club last season offered a contract to James Sanderson either on his 17th birthday or the day after. It stops other clubs poaching them. Just because players are offered a pro contract doesn’t automatically mean they are good enough to play for the first team. Not yet anyway.

I see Comical Ali and the rest of the apologists have been out in force with the propaganda this afternoon - congratulating each other on how right they are and how any alternative point of view should be mercilessly quashed.

‘There are no problems! The word problem does not exist! Everything is fine!’

The 11 black and white traffic cones will be ready and waiting when there’s nobody left to flog.

    Hic.
