What I am suggesting is that it is no good living in the past. I would suggest that 80%+ of our support weren't even born at the time. It is of even less relevance than that lot over the river when they keep going on about 2 matches that they won over 40 years ago.
It was suggested by Dug Out that in his view that The Nest was "soulless" and that the Lawton bar was better. Have you been in the Lawton bar (even with the photos)? "Drab" doesn't do it justice. In my view it has only one purpose and that is to be a refuge at half time on a cold wet winters night at half time.
To make matters worse, in his follow up post he then admits that after leaving The Nest he went down the Navi instead of the Lawton bar.

It may need a spruce up I don't know but suggesting we eradicate our history is a bit strange. He was one of the finest players ( if not the finest) to play for Notts. Perhaps we should rename It Vinny Arkins Bar?

I was thinking more along the lines of 'The Duffy/Baldwin/Cameron Experience'. The young 'uns could get falling down drunk in there without trying.

I'm sure you're right with your 80%+ comment, but I see it as remembering the past rather than living in the past. Do we bin the Jimmy & Jack statue in 20 or 30 years time on those grounds? I really hope not.

Maybe i am wrong but you should visit specsavers because i did not write that Lawton's Bar was better, I intended to imply1 that it was more suitable to have a quiet pint, conversation. It is a refuge either pre-match and half time with the great facility that you can pre-order and pay for a half time pint that is more or less waiting for you. It's not a cold wet winters night refuge at all, it makes a profit for NCFC.
I was with other's that were in the family stand, so if i may explain to you that the Lawton's bar is not accesible to those that are in that stand, hence the Navvi.
In the Pavis we have Lawton's, it's at the far end towards the kop, about 30 yards on from reception, and yes the photo's did enhance Lawton's, maybe not for yourself though as there there is no pretty flashing lights in there.......it's just history.

The club has announced that cask ale will continue to be sold in the Nest on all home matchdays thanks to Magpie Brewery.

Did not say that Lawtons was better then anything, will i go into the nest again?, probably but no desire to at the moment after first experience, just an opinion. As for going in the Navvi, some with us were in the family stand which has no access to Lawtons's Bar, walked past the went in.
Lawton's to be fair is a little drab, it was better with all the ols photos on the walls, it's a relatively quiet place, order a pint for half time and its waiting for you, no 2nd half missed. On a cold winters night it is a little Hotel California, very, very glad its there, drab or not, as long as it turns a profit long may it be there, just put the pics back on the walls. Maybe you are not bothered or don'c care about the history of NCFC, a lot do, Lawton's bar is part of Meadow lane.

I dont really know what has happened to create all these repost/replies but i think there has been a glitch on this site, it said yesterday that there was an update taking place maybe this has something to do with it, its' not intentional, it's just repeated on its own.
