Think this is the best business we did so far in the window.

We will miss him badly. However, the fact is that he didn't really get the job done just like the rest of the team last year and we are now a championship team 2 years running. A 40 million transfer can't be overlooked. Brighton can afford him and we can't as a championship team trying to comply with FA financial rules. The FA appears to be clamping down on this and we all know that we are not going to get a fair shake if they come after us. It sucks but it's the reality. Farke will lose his job over this decision.

Summerville, in contrast, was Championship POY and we got 25 million.

I think Rutter will be star some day in any league he plays in.

Agree with pretty much all of that.

When we signed him for 35m I think a lot of us thought is was a very big fee for a largely unproven player.

In the prem it looked like a big mistake.

At the start of last season I think many thought he would be a flop but he was able at this level to show the talent he has. I think his challenge is both that sometimes he doesn’t actually know what he is going to do even as he is doing it - if it comes off great but means can go wrong and second he needs to apply a bit more discipline/thought to what works for the team.

In pre season he was showing signs of further progress and that is possibly why Brighton bought him.

On another level he is a player that can make the crowd get off their feet before the magic is even finished and those players are like gold dust. 40m a good fee for him at this stage and good look to him and his endearing goofy smile
