    O/T:- Sven Amazon Documentary

    Anyone else seen it yet? Very honest through difficult times now and of course Notts have a piece in there.

    Haven't seen the doco, but from what I've been reading, the end seems near for him.

    Saw his brief farewell,'thanks for the memories,smile,enjoy life', in what I took to be his final public statement.
    He could have made life very difficult,if not impossible for us,had he claimed even a fraction of what he was entitled to.
    And such was his Kissinger-esque personal charisma with the ladies that the whole circus that surrounded the club could have seen the introduction of the Hooters Girls as cheerleaders at the Lane. And he got a dubious jolly to North Korea.
    Top man.

    He behaved with incredible integrity throughout that sorry saga we know as 'Munto'. As he himself said in walking away from what was about a million quid, owed, 'I didn't want to be the man who was remembered for killing off the oldest, professional team in the World' top man indeed.

    He probably wants to forget the whole sordid affair to be fair to him. Notts should definitely do something to memorialise him though when the inevitable sad time arrives though. He was the only one to come out of that mess with dignity and respect. He could have left at the first sign of trouble but stayed to try and get us back on track. He stopped it getting in a worse position by warning Mancini away when he had doubts which would have left us in a right pickle. Top man Sven!

    To think it was 15 years ago as well now means there maybe some fans who might not know and it’s important we remember this part of the clubs history.

    I firmly believe from Svens actions during that period that he was involved in the project for the right reasons basically to take a club from the bottom to the top as a true footballing man would be.

    The Scandinavians who have been involved in this club both in the past and those in the present have had a positive impact.

    Sven was given a life presidency for his actions and I agree the club should acknowledge and recognise his contribution when the time comes.

    Good comments from Matt Hamshaw at the time Sven departed in the link below;

    I agree.

    A lot of outsiders scoffed and said Sven only came to Notts for the money, as if most other people in the same position wouldn't do the same if the opportunity was offered!

    The point is, from the moment he arrived and did an impromptu meet and greet with fans, he was 100% committed to the job he'd come to do, was courteous to everyone, had time for everyone, and his presence (stardust, call it what you will) raised the profile of the club tremendously. I don't have any doubt that he wanted to see the project through, had it not turned out to be a con.

    This shows the true Sven, a personal birthday greeting to me with a good bit about Notts.
