Comment has also been made that the club is facing financial ruin.

So what are the owners meant to do? Borrow more money? Magic investors out of thin air?

It is unsettling to know that Burnley is a “selling club” as evidenced by the recent sale of players. Estève mentioned in his post match interview that everyone is unsettled and wants to get through this next week. SP said, more or less, the same thing.

With loss of income. The salaries of a bloated squad, the loan interest, what exactly are the owners supposed to do - take the club into administration? In my opinion, they are being realistic, as uncomfortable as that may be.

We all want success. But are we really a Premier League club? Last season many, including me, preferred that we were winning matches in the Championship rather than defeats week in and week out, together with the VAR effect.

Now we are in the Championship and owners are dealing with the financial implications, people are not happy.
I agree Swiss. We are where we belong-the Championship. The fantasy of making unfashionable Burnley a “global club” was never going to happen. We are not Leeds,Southampton or Leicester who can just keep most of their best players and pump more money into the playing squad.ALK bought the club by borrowing against it.
By my calculations we were betting everything on staying in the PL last season and therefore the £100m spent on players needed to be recouped. We have now done this and more so hopefully we should get some faces i to steady the ship and not face another relegation. That is the reality of where we are.
