Absolute Scenes at Goodison Park as the Cherries give the Toffees a parting gift away to leave it late on matchday 3.
A tale of two halves as some would say except Bournemouth's second half started in the final moments of the game as they left it late to beat a struggling Everton who now have 0 points from 3 games conceding 10 along the way. This result leads to the question of whether Sean Dyche really is the man to save Everton this season.
Despite this, it was a frustrating match to start for Bournemouth as they just could not break down the Everton defense while pressure was being applied to them by the likes of Iliman Ndiaye and Jack Harrison. Bournemouth's midfield was also overrun by the brilliance of new signee Tim Iroegbunam. Defensive weaknesses began to show as Milos Kerkez and Julian Araujo struggled on the flanks. The biggest issue was displayed in the attack as apart from key man Antoine Semenyo, no one else created anything in that first half and it only got worse going into the second half.
After failing to get the ball out of the danger area following a free kick, Dominik Calvert Lewin headed it neatly to an unmarked Micheal Keane who drilled it low, beating the debuting Kepa Arrizabalaga.
Things went from bad to worse just a few minutes later as in the 56th minute poor defending once again led to an Everton goal with Jack Harrison putting it on a platter for Calvert Lewin to chip it over Kepa.
Now 2-0 down with not much time left, 65 minutes in manager Andoni Iraola made a triple substitution bringing off the struggling Evanilson, Left-back Kerkez, and tireless midfielder Ryan Christie for the exciting Luis Sinisterra, winger turned fullback Dango Outtara, and hot prospect Alex Scott to make a difference; and make a difference they did. 87 minutes in a bouncing low cross from Outtara found Semenyo at the back post for 2-1. What seemed like a consolation was more like a rude awakening as 6 minutes of added time were to come. Two minutes into added time led to a cross which found Lewis Cook's head to equalize 2-2, as boos were heard at Goodison Park awaiting for full time. Just as the full time whistle were to be heard, late late drama was to come as yet another failure to stop a cross led to Justin Kluivert assisting substitute Luis Sinisterra for an incredible 3-2 victory and left a sour taste in
Everton fans are left with a sour taste in their mouth as the Cherries pick up their first 3 points of the season in a way reminiscent of last seasons 3-2 victory against Nottingham Forest. A total collapse from Everton leaves them 20th in the league as Bournemouth now rise to conference league spots 3 games into the season.
