    I will readily admit to having serious doubts about Maynard, but I would love nothing more than to be proved wrong. Still early days, but it would be a real feather in the cap of the brothers if he justified their faith when most Notts fans thought they should pull the trigger.

    I'm not sure "most" Notts fans wanted the trigger pulled on Maynard?

    I can’t be arsed to find it, but there was a ‘Maynard stay or go’ thread towards the end of last season, and quite a large majority said go.

    Thankfully he’s proving most of us wrong so far.

    I was in the ‘out’ camp. Credit to SM for responding brilliantly to us doubters.

    It’s only a start, but he’s certainly starting to build a bit of credit.

    One of the more pathetic things on social media last night was certain fans proclaiming that they were always ‘pro’ Stuart Maynard and trying to reawaken old arguments with others who wanted him gone at various points in the last few months.

    We get it lads well done, you were (hopefully) right.
