There's a fair few non-traditional current EFL teams that need adding to that menu of clubs.

The interesting thing about the opening 6 game past season comparison table is the cluster of promotion seasons sitting below the top 20. There might be something to be said for not peaking too early - Wrexham and Stockport's slow start last season would bear that theory out. Being top brings with it a certain kind of pressure that's not easy to manage over 46 games and Maynard has no experience of winning promotion or even challenging for it as the main guy, but you're not going to deliberately drop points in order to fly under the radar.
Next game will be the first one we play against somebody who finished in the top half last season (just, 12th) and the first this season against somebody in a good run of form.
