    Have they renewed yet?
Boring and turgid .... don't think so
Ticket sales way down ..... are they?

Anyone seen or heard from the Ultra guy from the East Coast?

For context, this was the state of play at the time this thread was posted........

At least I was willing to give him to the end of the season but I think at the time I just assumed he'd go anyway.

It's not hard to see why we have improved so much

Last 8 games in the form table - scored 11 conceded 16

First 6 games this season - scored 14 conceded 6

Far too early though for the table to have much meaning, apart from the obvious problems have been addressed.

At present we are in the same league position as last season after 6 games, but we have 1 point more this season. We have scored 2 more goals and conceded 4 less.

The teams we had played were fairly comparable to this season:
    Sutton (A)
    Grimsby (H)
    Morecambe (A)
    Doncaster (A)
    Tranmere (H)
    Accrington (H)

    The signs are good!

thought the Bros were smart for trusting their own assessment of SM and sticking with him after a difficult beginning. Although I wouldn't have said that if we'd gone down. Overall, much better strategy than the old mgmt carousel.

SM's done very well this season's opening. Looks like he's made an excellent fist of our recruitment and pre-season. The players that aren't injured look fit and well-drilled (in a variety of systems), and he's clearly not as naive a coach as he looked at points of last season. If anything, so far, he's expanded on LW's innovations. He's also sounding much more confident in pressers.

Consistency is such an important part of what we want from him though, so the more games, bigger sample size, obvs the better to judge him. Still, it's good to read he's changing people's minds, and that the Bros are educating us to a different approach to head coach/mgmt recruitment.

Based on this season's start he's won me over so I'll admit my mistake. At this point, Maynard in.

It’s a little premature to digging this thread up with the idea of ‘naming and shaming’. Maynard Outers aren’t correct. Maynard Inners aren’t vindicated yet. It’s been a solid start but absolutely nothing has been achieved yet which in fairness SM alluded to post-Accrington.

What I will say is he’s come out a different animal this season.

    Promising.

Does anyone know if he or his assistant have moved home to the region. Difficult when they have families.
I thought something was stated by the club at the time that it was their intention to do so.
I am starting to get worried that if we have a successful season that someone will come along and poach our 3rd manager in a row.
Perhaps Radar are already looking at replacements, just in case.
