Having watched the full match late last night…

And knowing we won it was interesting to watch in a relaxed manner and actually look more into how we set up and our general play.

It’s a very long time since I’ve seen us as such a cohesive and well organised side AND our quality of movement and general play was very high.

The close link up play was excellent.

I’m quick to give Swift a verbal kicking at times but he’s a very clever footballer, his touch and passing gets missed at times, he’s really good at keeping the ball moving and good in tight spaces.

We move as a unit in defensive shape really well, Racic was excellent when he came on, he really covers some ground.

Furlong was tremendous yesterday, it’s time to get his contract sorted and same for Swift.

Maja is our best front man since Odemwingie and the brief Berahino period, he’d have been more use than Brown Ideye and Rondon, he works his nuts off defending from the front as well.

I’m really impressed with Heggem, he reminds me of me in the sense that you feel he’s not naturally gifted but he appreciates his spot in the side and he concentrates every second of the game and no cause is ever lost.

The closing down, chasing back and the willingness to block and throw bodies at the ball is reaching Sir Gary levels of intensity.

Megson, Hodgson and now Corberan, our best three managers of the past 40+ years since Atkinson in my opinion.

Really good yesterday, a pleasure to watch.

Good summing up Mick. I thought that about Swift too. Corberan really gets them running like a well oiled machine. We will lose some, but I can’t see us being undone many times this season. Good choice of best 3 managers, I’d say the same. Who’d have thought a few months ago we would actually be enjoying this season?

Asante was a good buy and the money we made helped us get Mikey Johnson back .
But for all his hard work ,he could never link play and needed aleast 4 chances to get one goal , Maja is 10x the player ,best CF we have had for years .
