After the Accy game, I overheard a group of fans talking on the way home. The subject of the conversation was "are you still Maynard out?", and the answer was mostly yes. Astonishing.

All I can say is I'm glad the bros are running this club and have conviction in their strategy and decisions. Last season fell apart completely, but there were so many factors that combined to lead to our downfall, only one of which was the head coach. Hard someone like Hardy been in charge, Maynard would have been gone after 10 games or fewer, and we'd have someone new in with a completely different football philosophy, demanding a whole new set of players.

I can honestly say I've never seen the club run this well on and off the pitch, and I've seen us play in every division.

I think it’s just a little early for the ‘I told you so’ posts.

I will be absolutely delighted if I’m wrong and Stuart Maynard leads us to promotion. However 6 games is far too early to make a judgment as to whether or not he’s learned to from his mistakes.

    I hope he has.

Sure, we're only six games into the season. But if it's too early to say "I told you so" with us sitting unbeaten at the top of the table, it was also too early to say "sack him!" last season.

For what it's worth, I'm pleased we stuck with him, and I think we'll do well this season based on what I've seen so far. But one thing's certain: we'll have a bad run of games sooner or later, and the same lot will come out the woodwork and claim he's not up to the job.

Like I said, I'm just glad the bros are running the show and now us fans.

    Yes, agreed.

6 games into the season is no time to be calling him the next Pep. Equally 6 games into his tenure was no time to be calling for his head.

    Where’s the balance?

He'd had 12 games in charge at that point, double the amount this season so far. I should have posted the 12 game current form table, which we were also rock bottom of. And we went on to lose the next game after this thread began and drew the one after that.
Let's not forget also that Fullarton was sacked with a better record than Maynard after the same number played.

I was and still am a Maynard in man. I get to away games in the frozen north when I can. Watching us at Tranmere before Williams left it was apparent we had some serious issues going on which were partly player ability related and tactic related. When I saw us at Bradford there was a 30 minute spell where we were pretty much untouchable and I could see the potential for the team. I’ve watched the sky feeds that have been on and the difference this year to last is we have a bit more grit and determination to battle rather than folding like a cheap suit like we did last year. The good teams always seem to have a way of winning even when playing below par. Hopefully I’ll be at Morecambe and Carlisle depending on tickets.

Ok id assumed it was 8 games. We're unbeaten in 7 so far. Just shows how ***** it is to give a new manager a pre season to show his worth. Fullerton was in the Trew era and you could get sacked for farting in the wrong direction in those days. So glad we have a much more professional set up now.

I have resisted any "I told you so" posts before. But The_Pie_Man, you are seriously tempting me!

    I/we.... can't resist.
