Thread: Birmingham City Post Match Thoughts

I’d like to give a special mention to Chris Teihi. Was a lazy, disinterested waste of space you are. He literally could not be arsed from about the 5th minute.

What he now has to do is show us the old Evo and how he drags the best out of what HE brought in. I still believe like I said pre season, we will finish mid table to tenth. As a first season, I as a fan I will take that. TS hasn't got the money like Brum to take us back up in a blink, some need a reality check.
Didn't Paul Warne manage to do that 3 times?

Got to agree with that, he was awful today.
People said we started with 2 in midfield, we didn't have that many.

Even though I've criticized the team, this is a proper post, Evans is not a miracle worker..he can only work with what he's got...he will be hurting more than anyone on here tonight cos the guy only knows winning..I think we need to stay with him..

It was a shambles from the start. If you're going to have a go at them, you don't play 5 at the back and leave midfield short handed, which was constantly over run.

Some one mentioned trouble in the dressing room, i agree, something seriously wrong...................utm

We had many issues last season but for me the main ones that absolutely killed us were a complete lack of width and pace. We still have this same problem in my opinion. Everyone knows I didn't want Evans for reasons that don't need repeating again, but I fully expected him to spot this issue, rectify it, and have us at least playing a more 'Rotherham' style of football. Today could've been a Matt Taylor team.

Evans has talked up his signings this summer but with the possible exception of Humphreys for Ihiekwe, which of this current squad would get in the last League One team we had?

He's got a very good promotion record but his only one at this level was with us ten years ago. They've all been from league two or non league otherwise and only one of them since he left us.

    First ten minutes half decent.
Rest of game reminded of last season.
Have to say Birmingham played some really good football and would be a handful for any Championship side.

Lessons that Evans needs to learn after this abject display.
1 Drop the goalkeeper. He does not command the six yard box never mind the penalty area.
2 At home do not set up to draw because you think the opposition are good. Set up to win and at least you might get a draw.
3 Stop bigging up the opposition before the game. What does this achieve Evans? I will tell you. It boosts them. So stop.
4 The midfield is the battlefield where wars are won. This has to be the priority as it was a large empty space for them to run into.
Their goals were (borderline) offside but we were always on a hiding to nothing with your useless tactics.
I wonder if TS agrees with the above?

On paper we’ve have a half decent team. Unfortunately, however, the game is played on grass.

Need to stop the rot though - must secure L1 status come May and take time to properly build from there.
