The point is about the futility of offering 'better' (as you requested) options. Anyone offers a decent name, we can't attract them. Any name we logically should be able to attract, insert reason why they're poor (not proven, wrong style of football, take your pick). It's easy to bat them away because you just throw any single reason rather than look at Evans against that manager and discuss the wider ramifications.

I'm neither on or off the Evans bus. I've been open minded and offered balance when anyone has been staunchly for/against him being here, but there are facts too. We weren't his first choice - there was noise last season but he wanted to stay where he was - he became available when his last job ran to a failed attempt to get up. He's been a part of poor recruitment/retention. As someone has said, there are positives in the players we have, but that isn't the whole picture. We've got poor first line cover in some roles, and we have some sub-par players who should be operating in League 2. He's behaved badly with opposing managers and not giving away fans a clap. And we look like we're still ages away from any sort of decent, consistent football being played.

I'm not going to boo, chant for him to go, sit around anxiously waiting for him to go - the team comes first and I'll back them until my number's up. But I'm realistic about what we're looking at. He wasn't brought in as part of a longer term plan - recruitment shows that - so he is here because TS believes he can get us up (or conspiracy theories about cashing in). That's highly unlikely right now. It takes us back though, and does make it more difficult to recruit going forward. Younger, intelligent managers with any sort of ambition would have already been put off by MT and LR getting no time (especially in LR's case who inherited the mother of toxic messes), and there will always be noise about TS's behaviour which we'll likely never confirm - but bringing back a 'character' in the hope of being a cobbled-together, rags-to-riches story, what sort of manager wants to follow that? No patience from the chairman and a team full of misfits, SE hurts the recruitment for our next manager too, whenever that happens.

FWIW, Lowe, and especially Wild... really? Where should we look? Rotherham and District?

Very good analysis UM, but clearly NWC misses the point which is that anyone with a degree of sense doesn't want to replace Evans (yet), but wants him to live up to the hype.

Exactly that. As often gets missed on forums, two things can be possible at the same time. In this case, it's possible to have a view on SE being the wrong man, but also want him to get results.

Some people miss the point because they choose to.

    Nothing there at all.

Only way evans will go is if we are in the dire come March/april and he will quit and walk away. Big T won’t sack his pal.

    Clubs gone to pot.

    League two here we come.

Hope I’m wrong but there’s nothing to take a positive in.

    Evans out
    Douglas out
Stewart show some front to your constant showcase or sell up and go.

Mellow, here’s another. Since he took charge of the club, Steve Bruce has played 3 and won 3 with Blackpool. 2 of the wins have been against Burton and Charlton away, both clubs we have failed to beat!

Blackpool have now rocketed up the table to 4th position.

The contrast between all the bluster and hot air from Evans since April and the reality of our situation is embarrassing. That's what gets people's backs up. Even I got enticed by it at various stages. The appointment of Evans worked,it seems, from the point of reigniting the club and giving it a feel good factor and selling season tickets. Unfortunately, since the first ball was kicked in earnest, the hot air balloon has become a lead balloon. He's a right little 'Del Boy', I'll give him that. I said last week that only 7 points from the next 3 games would be acceptable. We've now dropped the 2 points so Cambridge and Reading are huge games.

I’m guessing you seem to think everyone wants Evans to fail. They don’t they just don’t like they are seeing. Nobody is saying there are loads of other options they just don’t like what’s happening and are simply stating that fact. No conspiracy against the manager just honest opinions.

The entropy in any system where the conditions are the same will always decrease.

    Conservatives, Rotherham United.

My MD says... we should always be looking to see where we can improve.

That's different from value for money.
