Still needs a real kick up the arse and more
His Employer has a real dilemma now though.
It’s not a good reflection on them in terms of ethics and brand name and it could affect their future workflow
What will their constitution Clients think some of who may be hospitals.
What will his work colleagues think and will they respect him in future.
Will he be trusted after making such errors of judgement
He’s probably broken multiple terms in his contract of employment
So profitability and brand name vs one individual.
It might well be harsh but …..
Trust me I have no time for him, but just because someone else behaves in such a horrible manner, doesn't mean we have to sink to their level, his family don't deserve to suffer because of his actions.
How many people make jokes about 9/11, 9/7 or other tragedies, how many memes went around after the pagers blowing up in the last few weeks, a lot of innocent children were injured or died in that attack. What is an acceptable comment and what isn't? who makes these decisions. That is all I am trying to do is to get people to think about such an incident in a wider context, not saying I have the answers either, just an observation.
Not sure that being so disgusted with someone's decision to say these things to a public audience that you wish for them to lose their job is sinking to the same moral level as the person who made those comments in the first place.
Telling jokes about tragedy situations may well happen between consenting adults with similar 'dark' humour, but that is completely different to publishing it to a public audience. His family may not deserve to suffer, but nor do families of anyone who has made shocking decisions with social media posts. The law may not be able to touch him, but his employer may well do and fair play if he loses his job. There needs to be personal responsibiliity taken for what crap people output to the public, and not just cowering behind the 'free speech' banner.
First of all what a dickhead for posting such insensitive and disgusting comments.
I kind of agree with Derbymiller in that the public just go on a witch hunt and they want blood. I’m not sure it’s ok for the public to tag in his employer and demand he’s dismissed.
I can see he’s been dismissed and that’s the company’s prerogative. If that’s the outcome so be it but when did this trial by the public be ok?
Not sure it’s acceptable even if the outcome of him losing his job is a company decision would it have been the same outcome without the countless posts demanding it happen.
Isn't it best to just not post hate comments in the first place? Therefore no public fuss would be needed. He put his comments up for the public, and the public have a right to express their response to it. Just be careful what you post in public, and if you don't, be prepared to take responsibiliity for the public reaction imo.
