Hey lads, the smart money says Wakey will do it of course, no problem. And hey I also believe they will do it, comfortably!. 😉

And hey do you know what, it says a lot that at the end of this season, I've been more interested in Wakey's end of season exploits.
Compared to my own teams disgraceful behaviour and non-attitude, which has been dragging on now for about 3 seasons!. 😡
Just got to hold our nerve now Acido , home advantage including the Grand Final is a big advantage .

However let's not forget Toulouse beat us in the South of France .

Fingers crossed we don't muck this up .

You (Wakey) deserve it to be honest Animal/Andy, seriously, over the course of the season!.
And hey I don't know what the Rfl will do next season, when it comes to the so called 'promotion' and 'relegation' thing.
I think London were very unlucky this season to be honest, but Ive also got no interest in a team like them/London at all, to be honest!.
The Rfl have got to sort it out, somehow, and make it clear!. 😟

I personally like many others would like to see a 14 team Super League with 2 up 2 down. But with the Sky TV deal being lower in value now, the 12 clubs in SL do not want their share reducing.

The current IMG grading system basically gives Grade A teams automatic Super League status. My view is they will only expand the league and bring back promotion and relegation once you have say more than 10 Grade A clubs. Hence I do not expect any promotion or relegation for at least 2 more seasons.

The official IMG grading for the 2025 season will be announced towards the end of October and the current 6 Grade A teams could well see Leigh and Wakefield join them.

Happy days being a Wakefield Trinity supporter.

All boils down to funding full time status in the Super League era .

I think all of us are old enough to remember the pre Super League days when players even in the old first division were part time and trained two nights a week .

Anyone going on YouTube and watching some of these games from the 80's would soon see just how much players have improved from those days in terms of skillset and fitness , whilst we enjoyed the game then today's game is a world away from that era .

Rugby League is a heritage sport only really loved in Yorkshire , Lancashire and Cumbria and in my opinion other than Catalan it will remain that way .

From what I read last week RL is in pretty decent shape compared to Rugby Union who pull in the bigger tv bucks .

The ten Premiership club's collectively are £300m in debt and the game is in a dire state financially .

Maybe the RFL aren't quite as bad as they are portrayed because that can't ever happen in Rugby League with the salary cap and long may it continue .

In our time in my opinion there will always be enough clubs operating on a full time basis, just the salary cap amount may change to meet higher or lower finances available from owners and TV sponsorship.

The salary cap is currently not a huge amount. Wakefield Trinity will within a couple of seasons earn 20% of their annual income form hospitality, merchandise and sponsor deals separate to the TV deal. They only need to increase stadium capacity to circa 10,000 but with far better hospitality facilities than other clubs and will have a higher annual income. They have already increased hospitality this season, East stand 350 capacity, to go with Fox's bar 96, Rollin shack sponsor boxes and new facilities planned and confirmed for next season including a 200 seater sports bar. Over 850 people can then use these facilities not just match day but 52 weeks a year, amazing business concept.

The salary cap for the 2024–2025 season in the Super League is £2.1 million, but clubs can spend more through loopholes. These loopholes include:
Marquee player ruling: Clubs can have three marquee players, but at least one must be Federation Trained.
Home Grown Player Credits: Clubs can receive up to £600,000 in credits to retain home grown talent.
EPS/International Player Credits: Clubs can receive up to £400,000 in credits to cover player absences during international periods.
Injured Player Credits: Clubs can receive up to £400,000 in credits to cover long term injuries.
Excluded Player: Clubs can exclude one player's entire salary from the salary cap.
The salary cap's purpose is to:
    Ensure that competitions remain competitive
Prevent clubs with more financial resources from dominating the competition
Ensure a balanced spread of players among clubs
Prevent clubs from trading beyond their means

    UP THE TRIN!

I also forgot to mention they have purchased the retail building adjacent to the club main entrance which will become a merchandise and coffee shop area for supporters to use not only on matchday but during the week, more income!!!

Grand Final tomorrow evening at a sold out Old Trafford KO 6 PM .

It's got all the makings of a cracker with Wigan looking to win the Super League title for a second successive year and Hull KR playing in their first ever Grand Final .

Wigan obviously start as favourites but KR are a formidable team and if they play as well as they can they can overcome Wigan in my opinion .

Looking forward to it immensely .

    Betfred Super League Grand Final

    Wigan 9 - 2 Hull KR

Very professional performance from the Warriors , phenomenal defence and a bit of Bevan French first half magic got the job done .

When you are continuously starting your sets under your own posts as KR were in that second half you aren't going to win any game of Rugby League , they are the hardest yards in the game and then some .

Mikey Lewis for all his attributes doesn't kick well and Wigan were able to start their sets further up the field and control the game from there .

Not a classic for the occasional Rugby League watcher but for us diehards it was a tremendous display of controlled , professional Rugby League by Wigan .

Betfred Championship Play Off Semi Final - Wakefield Trinity v York Knights .

I'm a little bit nervous this morning , everything points to a comfortable Trinity victory , with no injuries we are fielding our strongest line up of the season and we are playing at home in front of a big Trinity crowd , what could possibly go wrong ?

What could possibly go wrong is that every now and then sport doesn't always go the way everyone thinks it will .

It's one game and for the loser the season ends this afternoon and there is no next week to put it right .

The only thing that matters is the result and York are going to have a real dig at us that much is guaranteed .

Keep our nerve we should be alright , York somehow get a couple of try's ahead , the big Trinity crowd get anxious and who knows what can happen .
