The other day I was out jogging down a wide country lane as two young women approached with a Jack Russell dog on a lead.

I’m wary of dogs having been attacked by one when I was two or three years old so I gave them a wide birth of around 8 to 10 feet.

As I got level with them the dog lurched and snapped at me and got within a foot of my right leg causing me to veer to my left.

These two imbeciles actually cackled with laughter like two stupid schoolgirls.

I was so p I s s e d that I mockingly cackled back at them at which point they started abusing me!

I then thought to myself that in this day and age, it’s more likely that I end up with a photo or video of me on FB with accusations that I’ve been abusive and that I’m the problem.

That’s the problem with the entitlement in today’s society, it’s okay for people like them to act exactly as they want but as soon as you respond in a way that they don’t like they get all affronted.

I ended up with a bad knee injury three years ago in a similar situation when an Alsatian on a ten foot lead tried to attack me when I was on the opposite side of the road.

In both of these situations an apology from the owner/s was the required response but of course, that’s too difficult in this day and age.

The social media age makes it very difficult to respond to situations even if you’re in the right.
Good the running is still going with you Mick...I really feel I can no longer say I'm running....feels very much like jogging now...not complaining, just observing.
Nobody is wrong in this day and age....

    Cheers Dubs.

I put on some weight during my enforced period of almost a year off including my operation so I’m not where I was pre op.

I’m breaking my running up with more walking at the moment, I prefer to run 1/4 mile and 1/2 mile at my usual quite decent pace and then walk for a minute and repeat.

I’m getting shortness of breath issues at times which I’m wary of so that’s making me more careful as well.

I now carry the angina spray and an inhaler with me but truth is, I’ve not actually been diagnosed with a heart issue or lung issue, they’ve no idea what’s actually wrong with me as I’ve passed all the tests.

I was thinking about sorting a heart scan out for myself, would you recommend an MRI or CT scan to check for artery issues Dubs?

I’m presuming CT from what I’ve read up?

    I agree CT.
I am in similar situation and tend to do about 60K of walking during the week. I jog maybe three times a week, is all I do now. Sure isn't it great we are still out and about getting harassed by dogs and their stupid owners....
