Everyone’s welcome here, that’s the point of Footymad, travelling between boards is encouraged so Alf, Chalky and everyone else your contribution is as valid as the next man’s. Yes, it would be great if there were more Carlisle contributors but I can’t make them come.

Others have wandered off as pointed out. Yoonited got caught up when P got potted for accusations of p­aedophilia; he was quickly restored to the board but has rarely been seen since. Stefan and his other usernames wandered off and the only reason I can think of is that in an email he asked me to do something with someone at the football club and I refused. Perhaps it was coincidence though, who knows. Howoldboy I think wandered off because of the banning policy. I have to say that I have the greatest respect for those three who were solid members of the board and I regret their leaving, but my respect means that I have to also respect their decisions.

Running this board is an inexact science, you can’t please everyone. But its outward face is just the tip of an iceberg, you don’t see the rubbish that is my view of it as Editor. It's a sea of redacted threads and banned usernames. The last few weeks have been particularly difficult not just here but also for Kel on the Cambridge board. It all coincided with P making the same accusations of kiddy-fiddling against several of us here over on The Buzz and getting banned If you didn’t see the fallout on another thread over there I’ll give you the full list of usernames that Kel and I dealt with:

Is it any wonder that some get caught up in friendly fire? The point is that running this place isn’t easy because it relies on people like you to keep it going and keep it honest. But also to understand that mistakes happen but decisions are made with the best intentions. And will continue to be.
