    Cove Rangers away

After our wake-up call against Kelty Hearts last week we desperately need to get that game out our system and get back to winning ways at a place we’ve a decent record at. Mad to think that we only lost 4 goals in our opening 8 games but then went onto lose 5 in 30 minutes.
Brydon in for the suspended Douglas and hopefully a return of Dickenson.

Totally agree Johnny and I think "wake up call" is the best way of describing what was a complete debacle.

Although we lost 5 goals against Kelty, - I don't think our defence needs a lot of attention, - although if fit, Brydon would be my first choice.

Its up front that we need to be concentrating on, - and extra shooting practice would be in my drills every day.

Important that the guys get back on track with a performance at Cove and that the forwards start scoring for the sake of their confidence however I'm not fussy as to who who scores really. Hopefully we should have a near to full squad to pick from with Douglas being the obvious miss through suspension. We used to get very good updates on the health of the team but not so lately.

P&B reporting young striker Bryden out for 6-8 weeks ffs

That's not good news in the light of our remaining forwards inability to score. Bryden may not have been the answer but would have given the manager options and put pressure.on the rest of the squad. We can only hope the break has given the players time to hone their shooting skills.

Confirmed in todays Courier regarding Bryden and Dickenson only returning to training the end of this week…… time for McIntyre to start producing the goods.

So no pressure then? Lets hope he practices his shooting skills at least. You can't fault his work rate, but the lad needs to go for everything.

Queen Of The South 0 ........ says it all! To state the obvious, you don't win matches if you can't score. We have no threat up front and unless that is remedied as a matter of urgency it could be another long season.

Another unacceptable result and performance I feel Murphy is already a little under pressure and his friend Jim McLinden might have a big decision to make in the coming months if things don’t improve. I’m hearing the new director has already removed an individual who’s been working behind the scenes at Palmerston for years. He doesn’t mess about.

Two games ago we were top of the league and looking to match a 70 year old record of winning five consecutive matches at home yet now people are questioning the managers competence. Murphy himself knows that the recent two games are not good enough and that we are not testing the opposition keeper. Clearly our attacks is not performing however two of these being no shows through injury we are in a difficult place at the moment so what is the solution to this?
We could look at another loan signing but which club will loan you a proven goal scorer as they are like gold dust so this avenue would appear to be closed.
Try and get a senior player who was previous recognised as a genuine threat but is now regarded as past it but could perhaps still perform in the 1st division a bit like Sammon at Alloa but is there anyone still useful out there willing to come to Queens?
Take a chance on another prospect like Craik hoping that there are the next future Scotland forward.
None of these are easy solutions and probably our best hope will come once Bryden is fit as the Ayr supporters think very highly of him.
Murphy has his hands full but more reason to get behind the Queens
