IMHO women's football still has a fair way to go in terms of quality but it has certainly come on leaps and bounds over the past few years and tbh, I really enjoyed most of the games I saw over the course of the last World Cup. True, some of the teams who didn't make it past the opening stages were poor (defensive positions and goalkeeping in particular) but others, like Spain for example, were an entertaining watch.

Nice to see not only more girls and women becoming involved in the sport but also an increase in the number of fans for women's football who seem to have created a much more family orientated atmosphere to the games.

The USA remain the top seeded women's team but the rest of the higher rated international teams -France, Germany, Netherlands, Spain, England, Brazil-are countries who all traditionally have good reputations in the men's game. Before Thomas points it out😁, Sweden are currently seeded second however (whilst the Lionesses have slipped to 7th )

Just hope the whole passing out from the back/ keeping possession through the tippy-tappy stuff that has spread through the men's game doesn't similarly infect women's football or else they might find their recent increase in followers begin to collapse!
