Absolutely these clubs would no longer have a ‘local’ fanbase. It’s going to pander to those international fans with matches being played across the Americas, Middle and Far East with matches being played at whatever venue is the highest bidder!

But that’s the problem, clubs these days know with a good TV deal, they don’t need fans in seats!

Tickets will be given away for free to fill up otherwise empty stadia, with a media frenzy to build up ‘just another match’ to ensure Pay Per View subscription is high.

There’ll be pre match mud slinging with managers and their entourages holding joint press conferences squaring up to each other to create a false sense of competitiveness… which we all know is just for show as there is no real competition anymore!

It’ll become the WWE of the football world with teams following a script as the sponsors want think of ideas to keep people watching an otherwise pointless sporting event!

    Possibly 😆

Yeah it will become entertainment, Harlem Globe Trotters of football.

Out here in the Gulf the people have gold fish attention spans. The locals turned up to the world cup 2022 matches, took their selfies, tagged their location, if there wasn't a goal in the first 10 mins they got up and left. Headed off to the new coffee shop or shisha cafe that just opened. They don't care about the game and that does impact the atmosphere in the stadium which in turn has an impact on the competitive performance on the pitch.

Most of the world cup matches were flat. Leeds v Shef Utd. Oxford v Blackburn. Sun'lun v Burnley all have better atmospheres regardless of which league they play in.

Empty stadiums around the world will impact the product. The full stadiums and Fanatics committing their lives to supporting their team is the 'special sauce', to use a modern term.
