Sorry but my empathy bank is empty now for him. It must be so frustrating for Howe not knowing when and if he will be available. He is just taking up a shirt number and decent wage which could be used on someone else. I could be wrong but i feel he doesn't seem to have any urgency to be fit, feels like he knows his time is up here. Get what we can as soon as we can for me.

It must be more frustrating for Wilson to not be able to play and to keep getting injured.

Howe loses 1 player and has to play someone else, trains the squad all week, picks his team, yeah he has 1 less player when Wilson is unavailable but he’s gonna be doing the same stuff.

Wilson will have very boring and repetitive physio to do, which will be monitored by staff at the training ground, while he see’s his team mates all together getting to actually play football in training and in games.

As for not trying and just coasting, not having any “urgency”… if anything, with his contract coming up for renewal this is the time anyone looking for a new contract or to get a different club interested is gonna be looking to perform.

I know people will go on about how much he’s paid, and it’s a lot, but that’s the nature of the game these days… and regardless of how much he’s getting paid I bet he’d rather be fit and playing for us… and having a shout at the England squad.
