That may have been 17 April 1999 when some debuting on-loan ‘keeper from Liverpool, who was later Fulham’s ‘keeper (Tony somebody?) had a nightmare, when Billy Dodds, whose contract we apparently paid until the end of the season, scored against us and there was that particular “oooooh, look at me” sending-off of Pepper by an attention-seeking referee. Paul Hegarty was interim gaffer, trying to work miracles with the utter dross that Alex Fúcking Miller had left him with.
