So basically what we’ve been told is that Wilson is out for another 3 games MINIMUM.
I’m hoping that the club have decided that there is little value in risking his return in high pressure/demand games (Chelsea * 2 & Gunners)… and it is better to bring him back for West Ham (where he usually scores)
The worry is that we get close to the West Ham game and are told he’s still not ready… and I think the club need to give a lot more info if that is the case, because this is now starting to perform dialysis out of the fans.
We have GOT TO give Osula some game time now, and I mean in the next 3 games.
Isak can’t be ran into the ground in the next 3 games, when the following 3 are (on paper at least) far more winnable.
Osula needs some game time, not just a few mins in extra time… he had to get match fitness and get some real experience playing competitive games with his team mates.
If Isak were to pull up injured tomorrow we’d have no real striker (Gordon is not a striker) with any real game time and experience.
If he’s not good enough to start giving experience, then why even bother buying him… we might not get the best out of him yet, everyone should accept that from the get-go, but he’s got to be good enough to contribute something… hasn’t he?
The summer was a cluter F**K basically.
Ashworth's protracted departure + unlawful PSR fraudulent pressure = cluster f**k.
However, we're still only 5 pts off 4th spot, only lost 2 so far this season and we've had players missing, not played anywhere near our best.
It can only really get better.
Wilson has to be replaced with a serious consistent talent. We all knew he was gonna be a liability this season but we thought we'd get more out of him than ZERO. It's clear the financial restraints are damaging our progress. It's not acceptable from a club point of view and It's not acceptable from the players point of view. Both parties should have accepted that parting ways in the summer was best route forward!
I'm pleased to read that we're refocusing our January transfer business on a Right Winger rather than focusing on the CB.
Guehi's form has shown he's never worth the money the real life Spitting Image puppet Parish wanted for him... Super Star money hahaha what a clown!
Young Osula is gonna have to get minutes. We need a focal point, Gordon isn't that man and we lose too much when he vacates that LW position.
I would love to know what Gordon was told during contract discussions. Where he will play, what new signings are expected, etc.? Whatever was said, he clearly liked it.
Great point Top.
I think we might still go back for Guehi Rag - I just don't think we'll be going in anywhere near £70 million![]()
Yep, that's a very good point.
I hope we don't go back in for him but suspect we will.
All depends how the Mitchell/Howe relationship plays out.
Structure has changed, and I think from the moment Eddie gave the interview in Germany the owners will have had doubts about his long-term future.
That said… if there is any truth to Mbuemo rumours, we’ll have to pay serious money for him.
8 goals in 9 games now… he’s single handedly scored as many goals as we have in the Prem.
He won’t be cheap… if he is available at all… but I can’t see Parish letting Guehi go cheap, so I see it as one or the other… and if we only get Guehi and that was down to Howe… that’s a hill he might die on.
Probably he mostly liked the number of zero’s in the wage paragraph.
He knows that in 2-3 years time if he still improves and the club doesnt go where the board wants it to go, there will be buyer for him. And he better spends these 2-3 years on a higher wage.
I love Gordon, but nowadays 5 years contracts mean nothing but a short-term wage. Cant remember high profile player, who was kept at his club against his will for more than couple of years.
As for Guehi in January he will have 1.5 years left on his contract, each window should cut 15-20 from his price - 50 in jan, 30-40 in summer, I guess
