So, potential banana skin in round one! At least it's at home! Dagenham and Redbridge are solidly midtable. Not exactly a crowd pulling draw so interesting to see the pricing policy for the game. Feel a little sorry for the club - there'll be some pressure for a price drop but, in terms of crowd numbers, they're on a hiding to nothing. Even if Crewe people get 'into the spirit of the FA Cup', I can't imagine huge numbers coming up from Dagenham!
Ah well! I predicted we'd reach round 2. Hopefully the Alex can at least manage that!

Well at least its a home draw but accept it's not a big draw, the FA cup has lost a lot of the appeal it used to have and it's never been a competition we have excelled in over the years with the odd exception, but we live in hope of a big draw at home if we can get to the 3rd round.

So £15 for Adults, £10 for seniors. I think that's reasonable as I don't any further reduction would gain many, if any, extra attendees. If you're interested in the FA Cup, you'll be there anyway. I certainly will.

I'm still feeling uneasy about this game. Got a really strong feeling that we'll fall flat on our faces.
It seems that Powell and Long will be named in the squad, though I'm not holding my breath (what odds on a withdrawal during the warm-up??). I suspect that Bogle will be given a tart, probably at the expense of Thibault. Will Booth get a run out?
D&R are another team to have been bought by Americans but so far have not set the National League alight, being comfortably mid-table.
Still, I can't help feeling this will be a dire 0-1.

How do most people feel about the FA Cup? I know the media have been trying to do it down for the last few years. However that's more to do with their slavish relationship with the Premier League. The last thing the PL wants is something once referred to as 'the Great Leveller'. But just because that's what the rich businesses want, should the rest of us follow meekly behind.
I still look forward to the competition, even though the powers-that-be are attempting to emasculated it by playing 'squad' teams or denying us replays. A large number of people have been boycotting the BM Trophy so by the same token, should be turning up in their droves tomorrow. Don't let the fat cats of football dictate.

I really love the FA Cup but maybe it's a generation thing. I fondly remember all those romantic ties and trips in the Dario era and hope against hope that we can have a repeat before too long, obviously there are a few who go further back than that with the Spurs and Chelsea games. The Premiership has chipped a bit more away from the Cups status this season with no more replays I believe.
Anyway tomorrow I think that we will beat D and R with a scoreline of 2 or 3 - 1 and am really looking forward to going.

Try telling Tamworth that the FA cup doesn't matter any more - good job they weren't using VAR, as they would still be debating if their goal was legit ...

Was very noticeable how disruptive Tamworth were last night, and I fear that D&R will adopt similar tactics ..
