That’s the difference between the right and the left. Generally the right dust themselves down and move on. The left look for someone else to blame.

There was only going to be one victor. Only Trudeau and Albanese left before most of the world returns to normality.

The second happiest man in the world tonight was also present at Trump’s winning speech - Nigel Farage was beaming.
I bet the third happiest face was Mr Putins

The media will try and blame the unrest on Trump. Difficult times lay ahead for the US, but the no longer silent majority need to stand firm.
I think there would be far more unrest if Trump lost like the last election. He isn't used to losing and can't accept it. You don't take much notice of what these so called stars say, how many times do you hear it said if so and so win the election I will leave the country but sadly they never do.

Back to the thread title, it looks like the betting odds were pretty much spot on as a prediction.

It will be interesting to see if Trump lasts the full term, he seems increasingly unhinged. There are those on here who say there are some good politicians in the Republican party, one of them replacing Trump mid term would probably be the best outcome.

Oh yeah, the bloke who was elected to represent the people of Clacton as their MP. I wonder how much time he's spent representing the people of Clacton and how much time he's spent sucking up to Trump since being elected?

If Trump resigns or dies, JD Vance will automatically become President (25th Amendment). There's a strict line of succession after that (Presidential Succession Act).

Interestingly after the VP, next in line is Speaker of the House. Assuming the Republicans keep control, that's probably Mike Johnson... who says he shared a "secret" with Trump pre-election.

Trump was always going to win as Harris was completely out of her depth. Trump won big this time which shows how poor she was.

Not great news for the UK with Keir Starlin in charge and I'd expect David Lammy to resign as how on earth can he work with Trump after all he has said about him?!! 25% tariffs on imports will make it hard for anyone to do business with the US without having a Lammy!

A bit like the 100 or so Labour 'Volunteers' that went over to help the Harris campaign - just for balance :-)

Let’s see how the next UK election goes, but my guess is that a lot of disgruntled voters will jump on the Farage bandwagon.
Tories have lost all credibility and Labour have pissed a fair few off just with there first budget.

Not one of them was an elected member of parliament, so your comment has no relevance at all.

After several failures Farage went straight into the most likely seat for a Reform win, once he got the win he didn't give a flying f@ck about the people of Clacton. Nigel Farage is only interested in representing Nigel Farage - "In August 2024, Farage revealed as part of his obligation to the Register of Members' Financial Interests once entering parliament that he is earning over a million pounds per year for work done outside parliament, an amount that is estimated to be significantly higher than that of any other member of parliament".
