Yeah, well what about the Tories who did the same

A former Tory Cabinet minister has been to the US to campaign for Democrat candidates because, he says, Donald Trump "flies in the face" of his conservative values. Robert Buckland, who served as both justice secretary and Welsh secretary during his 14 years as a Tory MP, said he hopes Kamala Harris wins the November presidential election so the UK has a "stable ally and world power at a time when it is needed desperately".

Some of them have even put their shirt on it happening ...

Rory Stewart is facing the loss of a huge sum of money after he placed a big bet on Kamala Harris to win the US election.
The ex-Cabinet minister confidently told his nearly 600,000 social media followers earlier this week that Ms Harris would 'win comfortably'. He even revealed he had 'bet the maximum I was allowed to bet' on the Democrat candidate to win the battle for the White House.

At least some of us lefties called the betting right.

As for Harris, I don't know what they see in her, she just seemed to want to carry on the damaging agenda of Biden, a ridiculous senile old fool with laughable anti-British views based on some misconception about his ancestors. The US needs a direction that doesn't involve perpetual war everywhere it can cause one, a policy the likes of Blair, Cameron, Johnson and now I fear Starmer have slavishly followed. That has been the root cause of most of our problems, including mass migration, inflation, fuel poverty and so on, and it needs change.

The massive downside of Trump winning is the extra power it gives to the likes of Musk, who will now be out of control.

Once again, the polls have proven to be very, wrong with most, forecasting there to be a cigarette paper between them.

One, glaring omission from that list.

My gut feeling in the last few days when the polling narrative was "neck and neck" was that it probably meant Trump had a decent lead.

Aside from the suspicion that at least some pollsters see their role as being to influence rather than reflect opinion, it was also observed in the aftermath of the 2016 election that "Silent Trumpers" had been a factor in masking his true support level back then.

One commentator last night made the observation that some/many Trump supporters are likely to be characteristically suspicious if not hostile about revealing information to pollsters and the media, viewing them all as part of the machinery of the political establishment/mainstream, so it's not all that surprising that the level of Trump's support was underestimated again.

I might be on the wrong track, but I think I know what you mean .

We had 6 years of identity politics, people being put into positions of power because of their ethnicity or gender (whichever one of the 30 genders they may be). The population being dumbed down by government propaganda and driven from the top, the watering down of the education system and indoctrination of the young. For example, my son starts university after Christmas, studying Chemical and Biological Engineering. One main part of the course is that he has to study the relevancy in science for Maori and the Maori language. Complete waste of time in the Chemical Engineering field worldwide, but the Universities here are still pumping their ideological agenda. However, everything else is slowly getting better.

The US, Canada and now Australia are well into their left-wing ideological experiments. The UK? Boy, there's a lot of pain to come yet. Unless they bounce him early, like the Aussies are going to do with Albanese.

Good post Bohinen. As an aside, Trump is much further to the left than the media portray him. It's just that the 'left' has gone that far around the political spectrum, that they are almost on the right.
