Not heard that one - heard we are actively pushing his name out there to clubs.
Doesn't his contract end sooner rather than later? WOuld have thought we might have struggled for a big fee?

For a club with ambitions of the top 4 he's simply not reliable enough.

He's out of contract in the summer of 2025.
A cheeky £20m bid in Jan and flog Wilson for £5m would be decent.
£20m over 5 yrs = £4m a year so this deal booked on this years finances is a net profit.

I can guarantee one thing...it's not a big fee!
He's 32, contract running out and always injured.
He could possibly do a good job for Southampton if, IF he can stay fit. And by good job, I mean scoring 10 goals from Jan.
But it's a massive risk for them. £10M at the most, realistically more like £5M.

We will have a lot of competition for David. So I think £20M might still not be enough and he could well be waiting for his free transfer.
