Conservative Party members clearly didn't elect Kemi Badenoch 'because' or 'despite' the fact she is black, but because they trusted her most of all the candidates to deliver the Conservative values they want to see.

In other words, in line with the dream of Martin Luther King, they judged her not by the colour of her skin, but by the content of her character.
