Cuts no ice with me I?m afraid, if I was lucky enough to have been a professional footballer then I would want to play ever minute of every game not sat on the bench in a woolly hat and gloves with a heated coat on.
You have to manage injuries Bomber. They all have something to not push and three games a week is too much. It was one game a week back then with the odd cup fixture now and again. Plenty of time in between to smoke fags and drink beer.

I have lost so much interest in football over recent years, expectations, crazy schedules, idiotic kick off times, ludicrous number of substitutions, not to mention the poor standard of refereeing, all have contributed to killing it for me. I haven’t been to the Hawthorns this season and have no plans to do so, too much traffic and now, after an eye operation, I don’t want a long drive home at night. Quite honestly, going down the road to watch Kettering has more appeal. As is the way, though, I will always be a ‘Baggie’ at heart. All the drawn games and the sideways passing isn’t exactly enticing, though, is it?
