    Bit of insight

From the team selection v Sunderland.

Bartley defied medical recommendation of playing a maximum of 20 minutes as a late substitute at the Stadium of Light on Tuesday night and instead was called in as a late starting XI replacement for Ousmane Diakite and played the first half.

The experienced centre-back had missed around six weeks of football after minor surgery on a long-standing knee issue but had barely completed two training sessions prior to the trip north east. Corberan had gaps all over his defence - with the ever-present Darnell Furlong suspended - and Bartley was only ruled to play a bit-part cameo.
But Bartley showed little sign of ring-rust as he partnered Torbjorn Heggem in an excellent defensive performance from the Baggies, who claimed an impressive point in another 0-0 draw given their shortcomings at the back.

Head coach Corberan withdrew the defender at the interval, for midfielder Uros Racic who dropped into the backline, and now the hope is Bartley can be ready to play a bigger part at lowly Preston on Saturday.

I want to know what these so called shortcomings are, over the last few games we?ve had Furlong ( 1st choice full back), Holgate (Premiership player an upgrade on Ajayi), Heggem ( what a find) and Styles ( a 1000% upgrade on Townsend), Against Sunderland Holgate played right back, Bartley was superb as was Racic in the second half, Heggem and Styles played very well, There?s no need for Cautious Carlos to treat teams as though they were Barcelona, it?s an insult to the fans who pay good money to follow Albion home and away, he sets us up as though we were a lowly lg 2 side playing Liverpool, there?s hardly an attacking intent at all, more concerned about not losing.
If this so called football was under Pulis ( we actually scored from free kicks and corners) all hell would break loose, we have several quality players at West Brom all hampered by a coach from the Southgate school of coaching not from the Bielsa one, I for one are sick to death of being bored to death with this anti football, Preston will be no different and I dread to think what the tactics will be v Sheff Utd

Couldn?t agree more Bomber. People moaned about Pulis but in his first season we finished in the top 10 of the Premier - not the worst championship for many seasons! Is the football under Carlos anymore exciting one league below than managed by Pulis? No!

Thank the Lord I didn?t spend over ?100 to watch almost zero attacking intent ( again on Tuesday ). Earnshaw?s comments were bang on when he registered his dissatisfaction that West Brom showed no intent to attack or try to take the game to Sunderland.

Now to Preston to play for another point and for them to be treated like Barcelona! For sure our Jed will feature in this one along with Dobby the Horse! Many are now getting fed up with this boring football as you only need to look at the social media posts.

Same old defence of differing views of Carlos Pulis. You might want to go to a match and spend some cash and fall asleep!

I'm really intrigued as to who you think the quality players are that Corberan is holding back? as far as the tactics on Tuesday are concerned if you take the 2 best created chances in the whole game you win it, as AL kept informing us Sunderland are a young energetic side we clearly aren't if we had decided to go toe to toe against them we would have lost 100% our away form is not the the problem the home form is(although most teams come and set up the way we did on Tuesday) Corberan has changed the system is it his fault that Swift, Diangana and Johnstone have been really poor this season? Fellows has been through a blip but appears to have found form again in the last 2 games, the less said about Cole and Dobbin the better so i'm not really sure where all our goals should be coming from.

As soon as I read the title of this thread, I knew this was going to be a Boingy post.

?Lads, Sunderland have drawn their last few games too?

?It?s a tough league, anyone can beat anyone?

?it?s a gritty performance, Sunderland land can?t break us down?

?we?ve had injuries, players are getting back into their stride?

?Preston won?t be easy, they?re on form?

    ?blah blah blah?

Just wake up Boingy! Stope defending the Cabron! sorry Colberan (see what I did there Al) 😄.
