Not read any posts so as to not sway or dilute my opinion.

Firstly, quite clearly Peterborough's best players were their front 3. Incredible movement from their inside forwards, some lovely direct pressing through the lines.

So why oh why when we've somehow managed to keep the lead up to half time do we insist on risking losing the ball in stupid areas. Bass has to take the blame for their equaliser, stupid pass and we'd had several warning shots already. Lucky not to be 2-2 instantly after the half began when Bedeau did the same as Bass.

The substitutions I understand because we have a really important game on Tuesday but **** me do we have to make them all at once?! Their full backs were their weak link and they didn't look comfortable with the ball in the air just use the ****ing massive Gambian up front a bit more and not keep loading pressure onto ourselves.

A valiant effort but we could have and should have managed the lead and the game a lot better. Another opportunity for Maynard to impress me and another opportunity blown.

Frustrating as it seems an opportunity missed.

Isn?t the issue kind of that they did that because the manager is telling them to, when he should?ve been telling them to do the opposite? Unless he was, in which case sorry Stuart, I don?t know why your players did that to you.

Until this post I was seriously getting worried that you might have been possessed by East Coast Ultra 🤣🤣. Please don?t let that happen, Jacob, as I count on you to give v sensible and intelligent comments.

Think the thinness in our squad is being severely tested but then having the best players out injured would impact every club. I honestly expected a 4-1 reversal today. In the league we simply must hang in there until the aforementioned players return.

Hinchy is fine. He was good at the start of the season when we were winning games and he was starting, and he was good again today. With him being so young as well he?s a real asset IMO.

That said I think this is a good squad full stop, even taking into account the injuries. They?ve just got a rubbish manager, unfortunately.

It's a fair point, they're obviously under instruction to play that way and we know Bass is capable but it was comically bad execution and likewise I wouldn't blame Williams for Baldwin's attempt at defending against Shrewsbury. They have instructions but I'm absolutely certain they have license within that when the time calls to go long.

Absolutely agree it was easy enough to see the clearest path to winning that second half was to go long and minimise any risks in our own half. Which coming from Wealdstone should be his bread and butter.

To everyone referring to injuries - do you think SM has shown enough in his time here that with a full squad he could get us playing consistently in a manner which would see us promoted? My thoughts haven't changed since last year.

Someone name me a game he's managed where we've won against the odds?

I'm not someone who calls for manager's heads lightly but I would hang my hat that there wouldn't be a player who was gutted if he got the chop. Can anyone see him being poached based on our performances?

We pissed away last season by sticking with him and we'll do the same this season in a weaker league if we stick with him. Injuries or not.

Must have been bloody windy there as the shot was way off target at the onset.

That was genuinely the most brainless 20 minutes of football I think I?ve ever seen. If youre Peterborough and youre 2-1 down with 20ish minutes to go to a team from the league below what would you want them to do?

?Continue to play suicidal short passes from keeper/defence despite the fact youve nearly scored from them already

?Sub off their best players all at once including the big bloke up front who?s their one chance of holding it up and getting out of their half.

Ticks to both. Ive never been so angry at a Notts capitulation. Maynard clearly pre planned those subs, why did he bother playing a strong team from the start if he was going to throw it away like that??

I thought Newport away and Bradford away are 2 that come to mind.
