It's a game of fine margins, and we've been unlucky to come away from the last two games with one point.

There is an issue that needs addressing in January as we're light up top (again, not Maynard's fault), but the biggest boost would be having Jones and Crowley fit again.
I think we are hoping that when we get Jones back all will be well but now long will it take him to get back to his best after being out for so long? Just look at Matty Palmer it's took him a while to get back to something like his best. The only good thing at the moment is apart from MK Dons and Vale the other teams around us are performing no better or worse than us results wise.I
But we do need another striker as soon as possible.

The biggest issue we have is Maynard's inability to change tactics in mid-game. He seems content with having the lion's share of possession in midfield (sometimes over 70%) at the cost of a powerful attack and this doesn't change as the game goes on, if that possession isn't giving us a goal he's stumped.

One thing that worries me is we are open to a quick breakaway from our own corners.
Why don't we leave someone back to cover this. We got caught against Crewe and a couple of times yesterday was a bit scary.

Most often down our right back channel, even in open play. I've noticed numerous occasions when someone on their left, seems to be left in acres of space.

I've already said that in my perception, we were trying to cross the ball for Jatta from outside the box, a lot more often than usual against Newport. This more direct approach, possibly indicates Maynard's recognition of the fact that that we can't get round the back of teams like we could before the injuries. We rarely see that lovely ball inside and behind the full back back with the likes of JJ running on to it and of course Nemane has gone so we have to play with what we've got for the time being.

The player with the greatest threat has been Tsaroulla IMO and we should maybe play him as an out and out winger for the time being?

Tsaroulla opened up Newport a couple of times but for the most part he's head down and unaware.

This. I got nervous every time we got a corner on Saturday - it just doesn’t seem worth the risk.

One of the oddest signings in all my nearly 50 years supporting Notts!!
He scored against AFC Wimbledon yesterday. I wonder whether Daggers will want to keep him beyond Jan when his loan expires? 5 goals and 5 assists in 18 matches for them in the NL.

We never replaced Nemane, very bizarre he left a day before the first game his pace was always a outlet for us.
