And where do your 'Celery' stick friends live? Rotherham is indicative of many towns up and down the entire country not just 'Up North' or in Rotherham. Low income families living off benefits, they are the type to eat shall we say fatty foods as they are the cheaper option, rather than buy at Waitrose etc.

I thought that the tories had given Rotherham the grand respect of letting the town host the Children town of culture or something like that .
Next year the spotlight will be on the children of Rotherham.

Ulley, 'actions of a few', I think you meant pal the 'degrading raping' by gangs of possibly hundreds of youths/men some who will never be challenged and, dare I say it, I don't think it's gone away, just ignored.

"CSE scandali talked about on here far more "?I suggest you get an hearing aid, there aren't many times where the opposition fans sing out just a town full of paedeos. The town has been tainted with this attrocity for a long long time and cleaning that image will be difficult.

My post wasn't meant in any way to downplay what happened (and seemingly on some level continues), just to make clear that I don't think what is a relatively tiny slice of the population defines the rest of it, much as I don't feel that men who behave in appalling ways define all men, and so on.

I don't have any judgmental associates from out of town who apparently can't get through a day without getting worked up by the appearance of others (thankfully), but when working with people from around the country, and when I'm working in London, Bristol, and other regular haunts, I've never had anyone comment on the cases. Football comes up a fair bit though.

    It's just banter.

I've travelled to towns throughout England in my work and have to say that the average waist size (and chin count) in Rotherham is strikingly high.

I've never been convinced by the notion that low income automatically leads to a high calorie diet. Cooking from scratch as opposed to buying Turkey Twizzlers and oven chips can be cheaper and healthier. Ultimately, it?s a simple question of thermodynamics in which eating more calories than you expend means weight gain and vice versa, but I accept that it's possible that some people are not equipped with the knowledge and motiivation to maintain a healthy BMI.

We should have a Millers Mad Fat Club (perhaps starting in the New Year) with a virtual weekly weigh in (maybe with the 'Porker of the Week' paying a penalty to Bluebell Woods). I've sat behind you at a game and witnessed the rolls of fat on the back of your neck and so I know that you would benefit.
