I now wish I had not bothered clicking on this thread but I did.
I don't understand the need to have football supporters views on topics like this when there are plenty of other places to view non football related news and opinions.
Although it was obvious it was a non football story can we reinstate having O/T for those who need to post this stuff (or those who have vague thread titles for the click bait).
Hopefully having a couple of football matches upcoming we can get back to discussing football and behaving in a civil manner.

Right from the beginning when Khan was becoming or about to become.. the lead up to it was racism filled by the right wing media. You may disagree or have forgotten but he simply was not accepted or approved by that media. This is where all the anti khan sentiments began, from this vile racist behaviour which has spilled over to the lowly educated (dare I say daily mail and sun readers).. it?s evolved so much that it?s probably not even considered racist for those lowly educated as they have become so conditioned to it.
That?s why I call it racist to have a pop at khan because that?s the history of it.
Your last paragraph from what I understand you?re saying is that a mayor doing their job shouldn?t be knighted, which I actually agree with. Why should you be for doing a job. I agree. Had he done something exceptional then maybe. I?m sure you agree with that or we both agree on this.
So then this Charlotte Owen being made a peer - why didn?t the un educated or misinformed not kick off about this? Double standards.
I?m with you on that, that 6.3m for Khan to spend is ludicrous and so is the boris garden bridge that would have cost 50m. Did you know 1.7m was actually paid to private executives? Like you I agree the cost of this is too high and no benefit whatsoever.
Regarding the race, read my comments in response to LB. Khan is disproportionately criticised and it?s the historical racism that?s been hammered in to the lowly educated and misinformed. The very reason you mention you don?t like what he says is evidence of some bias racial bias. Why can?t he be left alone and let the voters handle it.. you forget we live in a democracy.
Just as well the lowly educated and misinformed don't realise Keir Starmer's dad was in 'fact' a Pakistani tool maker then really. Imagine the shoeing he'd come in for then. If only they knew. They could have a field day 😃 😀 😄.
I agee with Leics. when he points out that many genuine criticisms of individuals are too often deflected by defenders of that individual playing the race/s ex ual orientation etc. "card" but similarly have little doubt that some who criticise Khan do indeed do so from a racist viewpoint.
I may agree with Regis on this but dislike the un-necessary and unwarranted allegations against other individual posters. I may disagree with the political views of some on here but prefer a reasoned debate or an "agree to differ" stance than resort to simple abuse. Aside from being rude and uncalled for , it is hardly likely to persuade them to consider other viewpoints either is it?
As for Khan, I obviously know of some of his more publicised policies but don't know enough to properly comment. Several younger members of my family including two of my kids live and work in London and I hear good and bad but no real complaints and being voted in 3 times must say something I guess?
Btw, 68 how did you uncover the truth about Mr toolmaker sr? Thought that was a top classified secret?😀
