Not any longer. He?s probably the worst appointment in our modern history - and yes we?ve had some stinkers.

The Reedtz? continued patience is damaging us and to be quite frank, borders on negligence.
Borders on negligence? Ha Ha. It is a bit of a worry but he does know what he is doing. Safford is the only time this season where we can truly say we were outplayed in a game in my opinion and when we have lost they have generally been tight affairs. My patience is wearing pretty thin with Maynard but they are not going to sack him anytime soon so I would find something else to do if it grinds your gears that much. Simply not their style and indeed one of the owners has written a piece on the futility of sacking football managers quickly. And jeez the Notts of the early to mid 2000's was probably his example!

I think the sensible thing to do is see where we're at after the busy Christmas period, but yesterday's game was the turning point for me. I just can't see how Maynard gets us promoted, which has to be the goal. His form over both half seasons has been poor.

yesterday was the turning point for me too. Whether the players didn't do what they'd worked on, as he said, or they didn't understand what they had to do, or they were told to do ineffective actions, either way yesterday's on the coach for me. And he was hardly even animated on the touchline either. Imagine a Martin Allen team playing like that - there would have been mayhem and rightly so.

Maybe there's a scenario where we're on fire against Bradford, and we're tempted to scratch the collective chin again, but we've been there done that too often now - for me. He'll get more games lets see. Hopefully the whole Notts setup can at least steady the ship before NEXT arrives.

also, his presser yesterday. He has the air of a man who doesn't know what he's doing wrong.

We've not played well for ages. We're in a very average division. We've failed against the better teams in the division. I hoped it would work out for Maynard, but I think he's out his depth and is an Ardley MkII.

We're predictable and easy to play against and once again look like a side with a soft underbelly. Get in our faces and we crumble.

Yeah, I agree. The bros won't rush any decision, but it's becoming clear that we're not moving forward under Maynard. I'd say we have better players overall than last season, but we're a worse team. We've lost our identity somewhat too.

When you look at other teams around us, it seems like they are more serious about getting promoted. MKD brough in Lindsey, who got Crawley promoted last season. We brought in the guy from Wealdstone. It was always going to be a gamble. Time we got serious.

Absolutely agree that sacking managers hastily is hazardous and is actually something that really bugs me in general about modern football.

But judge each case on its individual merit, and this is a sacking I would 100% get behind. A disaster from the beginning, and very sad for all parties.

I get your point but we can?t keep hold of SM just because we sacked Craig Short prematurely over a decade ago?!

Theres been plenty of games this season, where weve had 99.9% possession, zero shots on goal and lost 1-0. Still, Maynards style of footie has cured my insomnia and made me realise that were going to be hanging around mid table for the next few seasons while hes still here.

Meanwhile, Wrexham and Mansfield knock on the Championship door.

Apologies for lack of commas but it looks better without questions marks everywhere.

I wonder if Matt Parmar as captain, told the Bros' that the players have lost confidence in Maynard.

I get all the SM comments, good and bad, seems just a pity that the eleven professional footballers were garbage. Let's face it though, unless you have strength in depth the style we play (and how we play it) is easy to get round. That team yesterday was incapable of playing possession football, not only out of defence but everywhere across the pitch. This season is turning into a repeat of last season because of key injuries and a poor squad. I don't care what anyone says, we will not get out of the division using the current recruiting model for 2nd string players.
