Does anyone know what football background Montague has
I have it on good authority that they are only accepting ?1 max bets at 500/1 per account. This perhaps says just about everything about today?s shocking display. The same person allegedly switched off his TV in Gedling when the second goal went in, and was found just 50 minutes later in the Victoria Centre with his utterly bemused girlfriend doing this thing called Christmas shopping.
I never want anything other than to see Notts win. But it will be interesting to see what the attendance will be on Saturday. The Saturday before Xmas and all that. Might start with a 7 sadly. On a positive it used to start with a 4/5.
I've been there on depressing Tuesday nights when it started with a 2! Because it's the mighty Bradford on Saturday I think we'll get between 9 and 10k, but it will mask the bigger picture. People won't want to pay to watch a losing team playing boring football, and that's us at the moment. We have done really well to get to the point of averaging 5 figure attendances, it will be really sad to throw that away.
We’ve lost the momentum from the LW era and I’m not sure it will come back under SM. The atmosphere was very flat for the last home game - we really need to play well against Bradford, with real intensity, or else things will get very toxic. Things weren’t exactly bubbly at the last fans’ forum either. An awful lot is resting on the shoulders of JJ’s return and also RM having a good transfer window (like finally replacing Macca and Nemane).
Heading is probably the operative word. Our owners don't make knee-jerk or emotional decisions on a Saturday afternoon, and I don't think they were ever going to over-react to the defeats at Crewe and Walsall which were understandable albeit disappointing, especially given the number of injuries.
Yesterday's game will have worried them though, not just because of the result but the performance, which was just dire. It looked like a team who have lost confidence in what they're being coached to do, and when the preferred way of playing obviously wasn't working, they couldn't rally themselves to at least have a battle on what was a poor playing surface.
I would say the situation is still recoverable for Maynard, but he's probably back in the 50/50 zone he was going into the summer, and maybe less than that. He's going to need a win and a good performance against Bradford and a real uptick in form over the Christmas period to get us back in contention. Key to that will be to get us back to looking like a team who can score goals again, and moving Crowley back into the attacking position where he scored regularly for us when he first joined is essential.
The most disturbing thing about yesterday was that we didn't respond at all. I was sat in their 'main stand' among Salford fans and they were all saying by the hour mark 'they've given up, haven't they?'. Posters describing it as a capitulation are spot on.
Something's off, even subs are not warming up properly and following training instructions.
I think SM has to make radical moves for his own sake, new captain and show the door to others, if only to get everyone's attention.
Many are saying that once we get Edwards, Grant and Jones back then things will improve. Out of those 3 only Jones will make any notable difference. Edwards is only any good against weaker opposition, Grant is just another glorified Josh martin. So if dont we sign some decent players in January, the fall down the league will continue.. We need a ball winning midfielder, a recognised striker and a pacey winger (Not wingback)
