He was the same as Maynard, lots of possession but doing nothing with it.. They would be ok if the game was only played in one half of the pitch..

I find it staggering that folk are using the phrase ?knee jerk? for this current situation regarding SM.

Knee jerk to me suggests a rash and premature decision to fire a manager/head coach, for example Craig Short, Derry, Moniz etc.

Maynard?s record is utterly atrocious and should have gone a long, long time ago. A failed experiment that the Bros don?t want to admit they were wrong to make.

There would absolutely nothing ?knee jerk? about getting rid of SM. In actual fact the owners either have the patience of saints, have lost interest, or aren?t prepared fall on their sword and admit they were wrong yet.

I agree. He's been "in the building" almost a year now and has been given plenty of time. I would give him until the new year though. The busy Xmas season could see us back in contention or further down the table. Either way, we'll know more. If we're midtable come January and our form hasn't improved, I think a change would be totally understandable. We should be aiming for promotion this year.

Surely you'd want someone in for the transfer window to help identify where we need to strengthen?

Not sure that's the head coach's job!

It's got to be that bit harder to attract decent players to a 4th tier club that's not even in the play off zone.... and arguably nothing says more about your ambition (or lack of) than who your manager is.

That's common sense. It would be really daft to go into a busy christmas period with a caretaker in charge. May as well leave Maynard until those games are done but promotion has to be the aim this year.

Out of interest who would people go for, I can?t see us getting managers working in L1 or ones that have been let go in the Champ, absolutely no chance on Robbins and I tend to think Buckingham might me difficult to get.
Many said we c0cked up not getting Williamson, would they have him now after his bad start at Carlisle?
