I thought the ref gave us some silly fouls & how Jules didn’t get booked for dragging that player back I will never know.

Well, i eventually got the match on but christ almighty. Passing back to the goalie and expecting him to kick long against a gale.

Nombe showed his true self, a very poor player, couldn't control the ball or move to find space. He wasn't the worst one either, the fat man and his mate are deviod of any positve ideas .......they have to go.......................................

I said in the pub last night that any team what's not won for a while will beat us, we like breaking records. If we don't score first we will lose 1-0.

Million doesn't buy you much these days, but I think we expected more than he's delivering.

Is it the (collective) managers' faults? Is it that the tactics used since he came have been the wrong ones? Are we wrong to expect more than he has delivered so far?

I'm not suggesting that he is consistently bad; I just feel confused after watching him.

Hoped we were going to continue what seemed to be a bit of momentum and looked OK for big part of 1st half, with wind assisting a little but once they scored and then against the wind in 2nd half we never looked remotely like scoring.

Bottom line was they maintained a very solid shape as soon as we started going at them, closed with better energy than us, had we're fortunate to get the break. In conditions like that, 1st rule is to play tight, make sure you don't concede and hope for a bit of fortunate. They were a bit better at this than us and fair result.

Fair play Philips who looks much more confident now. Powell always working hard but couldn't beat the wind with his crossing. Pretty much everyone else second or even third best.

Home form will probably keep us up. We really don't like away games. I'm amazed people still travel to watch us.
Only heard Ronnie's summary, it didn't sound very promising
    Merry Christmas everybody.

I did say what other jobs Steve Evans [selling meat from a car-boot wagon]
& Paul Raynor [traffic warden, with him always having a note-pad in his hand]
    would both be alright for.
Thinking about how Steve Evans organises his teams & tactics, he would not be
any good has a butcher, he couldn't even link sausages.

We had the elements with us first half but didn?t really look like scoring against a grittier team who had not won in 8 ! Second half we hardly got in their half clearly showing why we inserted the first half pressure with the wind in our favour.
Second half exposed our powder puff attackers and I mean all four ! Green didn?t want to know JCH was totally ineffective, Nombe is the weakest footballer I can ever recall, made Phil Henson look like a warrior ! Wilks threatened to deceive but always came up short when needed ? Midfield two did ok first half but it was always what If ? Oddofin and Jules always have a mistake in them and James whilst a good footballer sadly lacks pace and physicality, doesn?t leave enough players to form a good nucleus, constantly passing backwards is not the way Forward !

Jeeeeeez! We?re not going to improve until Evans has left.

It was such a shyte game mainly down to our cohesion.
Anyone would think that this lot had never seen each other before never mind had some spare weeks to work on things.

    Resign fatty

That second half was as poor an attempt to come back into a game as i have seen in a while. Mansfield had not won at home since October, they were on a bad run and we shouldn't be coming away from that game with nothing in that manner. Yes we did ok in the first half but apart from Nombes excellent curling effort, that was an inch over the bar, we created no chances. We did not lose that game because of Nombe trying to defend a ball we lost it because our management and coaching team are so poor and limited. The conditions were the same for both teams and Mansfield dealt with them better than us.
I know people say footballers aren't bright but my god how dumb do you have to be, to keep kicking it long in that wind. McCart twice laid a ball back to the keeper and then ran away from him instead of going wide to give him an option. Surely at half time the players were told to not boot it long and to play it out, through midfield and to feet down the wings, for the front four to drop deeper to collect it.
I have no idea how JCH stayed on that pitch, 5 subs and he was still on. We needed players that can carry the ball and run with it, so where was Hungbo and Bramall, personal feelings about players affecting squad selection.
Praise to Powell who was our best player, put in a real shift and won some great tackles. Phillips did well in goal and James, Kelly were ok.
We do not do well away from NYS and the next two games are crucial because we have little chance of getting anything at Lincoln and Huddersfield.
Played 10 away (lost 6) from home only scored 6 goals and we are in the bottom 4 of the Away table, we have failed to score in 47% of games. Our home form is currently keeping us out of the overall bottom four, we have a points per game of 1.21 and 1.13 in the last 8 games (https://www.soccerstats.com/latest.asp?league=england3). This inability to get a result away from home has to be addressed very quickly.
We are a below average team as the average points across the league is 27.5 and we have 23. 3 coming in with players leaving will not address the issues at Rotherham United.
