Supporters of, say, Lincoln City, Cambridge United and Northampton Town (amongst several others) would long for the times and league positions that Rotherham has enjoyed during the last 15 years. Do they all simply need people with 'football knowledge' on their boards? Have they all refused the overtures of wealthy investors too?
....and then there are the likes of Brentford, Bournemouth and Brighton who at one time were all at a similar level to us.
It depends whether you want to be negative or positive to make a point.

I have to laugh at some of the comments on here
Same posters making throw away comments about posters who criticise. They remind me of Leslie Nielson in that naked gun scene with all the fireworks going off in the background telling people nothing to see here move on.

I'm going for 1-1 against Stockport with
some breathing space for SE and TS not having to make an executive decision.
We'll still be going along to have a picnic.

    Up The Millers!!!

That's like arguing that because some people win the National Lottery everyone can choose to do it.

Wigan and Blackpool rose to the Premiership when they were lucky enough to be temporarily bank rolled into a position where they could achieve that. Neither had the characteristics to stay there when the bankrolling ended.

With the funding available, Rotherham cannot sustain Championship football, but at least we've had a decade of flirting with it. That's more than Cambridge, Lincoln and Northampton supporters can say and a hell of a lot more than, say, Bury supporters have enjoyed.

I can be as positive as I like about my chances of winning the lottery, but my mental state has no bearing upon the likelihood of it happening, so I don't rail against the fact that I almost certainly won't and mope about it.

Just as a point of interest and this piece of news broke recently at a fans forum .

It costs ?17m pa to run Barnsley Football Club , the owners are putting in ?8m pa to pay the bills , that's ?660k per month in league one !!! .

Just how long our owners are prepared to cough up that amount of money every month is at this point not known .

Something tells me not for long .

And you've enjoyed the arrival and tenure of 'rich' investors in the last decade.

Poor choice of managers and players and the only person who is to blame is the chairman, he?s ****ed up big time.

We've had our moments for sure but how long Parekh is prepared to burn his millions every year for no return is questionable .

That kind of reliance on ownership just to pay the bills leaves me thinking what happens if they walk away , there isn't anyone buying this lame duck in my opinion which means administration .
