    Best Albion Xl

I have followed the Albion since the mid fifties and this would be my best starting eleven plus subs:

Ben Foster, Don Howe, John Wile (Capt.), Ally Robertson, Derek Statham, Tony Brown, Bryan Robson, Ray Barlow, Laurie Cunningham, Cyrille Regis/Jeff Astle, Ronnie Allen.

Subs: John Osborne, Joe Kennedy, Graham Williams, Len Cantello, Willie Johnstone, Cyrille Regis/Jeff Astle, Boby Hope.

Couldn?t choose between Regis and Astle. Chose Ronnie Allen who could play as a striker or out wide.

I?m sure that a lot would disagree with some selections but again a matter of opinion. Any other choices?

Certainly, some all-time legends in there Leicesterbaggie.
Mid 50’s – mid 60’s is before my time so not able to comment on Howe, Barlow, Allen etc.

What is clear is that there are none since the mid 80’s in your pick and I would have to think very hard myself to include any.

Got me thinking that maybe the club should retire the Number 9 from the squad list altogether for now and eliminate the likelihood of players like Zohore and Anichebe ever defiling the honour of our two great 9’s Astle and Regis in the future.
