Really no different to Postacoglou. He treated us to a promotion Wembley visit and established us in the EFL. It's fair to be a bit sceptical about him sticking to a style of play but he had beliefs and stuck to them - admirable. Plus our defence was **** so it was probably the best way. The promoted defence deserved a go. It wasn't good enough by a wide mark but there you go. All fixed now and still would have been fixed if he was here. In many ways I prefer Maynard ( dons tin hat) but he did a fantastic job for us and has done pretty well at Swansea as well. Now linked with bigger jobs and all. It's not inconceivable that he could be managing in the premier league next season. Not bad for a one trick pony!

Strange how some folks dislike for certain players/managers seems to carry on even when they leave, I generally wish them all the best, keep my eye on their progress & I'm genuinely pleased if they have success. The only one I can remember both not liking & not wishing well was Ince whos very arrogant, do you know who I am, attitude really annoyed me both as a player & a manager, I even quite liked Fullarton who couldn't really be faulted for being a pawn in Trews battle with a section of our fans, I wonder if other fans bare a grudge or just let go? Happy New Year to all our fans & ex employees. COYP

Once Durham takes a dislike to someone it appears to stay that way forever no matter what they achieve.

I agree - in some ways I prefer Maynard too. Williams was extremely charismatic and likeable, and when his tactics worked, it was amazing. But I had this nagging feeling that he wasn't willing to adapt his approach no matter what. Last season, we became a bit of a laughing stock. some of the performances were awful - Harrogate away springs to mind. Just totally devoid of ideas but persisting with the pass-it-around-the-back approach regardless.

We're a much more pragmatic side under Maynard, and I have fewer doubts about the way we're trying to play. He may not be as charismatic, and I have some doubts about whether he has the mettle to lead us to promotion, but he's certainly less dogmatic and more willing to adapt than Williams.

Well it seems the new year hasn't improved your judgment of people Durham. 'Nothing but a clown'? Seriously?

Manager who got 107 points and won a wembley final with Notts being called a clown on a messageboard, couldnt make it up. On new years day he?s still rent free in your head my god you must be a miserable bloke 😂😂

Speculation that their heavy defeat today was down to uncertainty about whether he?s going to West Brom or not. Which in my book is why we were so dogsh!t against the likes of Harrogate last season- the players knew he was going.
